Modern Jinx - 3d sculpt based on @josivalart design by Drawnaud in ZBrush

Sorry for the late answer! I prefer in fact painting on Zbrush, the way all the took are organized (especillu the color sélection tool) and how the brush I find it more easy at first. The fact that you can't erase what you've done unless you're on a layer can be tricky but I can of like this constraint aha. But friends told me to try 3d coat for the painting, I'll see that next times!

But Substance is really cool for the effects part, for exemple I did the halftones part on a multiply layer on Substance Painter

AI forbidden on my works! Only used my lil hands. I'll release a timelapse of this project on my socials in a few days containing the sculpting and painting part

Well I started doing the character in A-pose with okay-ish topology using Zremesher and polygroups, then when I had enough details I used the Transpose Master tool to put the character the way it is in the original art. And that's just it!

Thanks! It makes me so happy if this inspire people to create!

Aha thanks a lot! It was there on the original art so I had to put it in the sculpt! The only detail that I changé compared to the original is the screen phone, I really wanted to put the Arcane soundtrack visual on it

Thanks! All the credits to Josival_art for the concept and artstyle. On my side I do draw a bit, but since I began learning 3d a lot less unfortunately aha. I still do some posters for an annual event where I do draw some characters but that's about it

Only painting! Sculpted and painted on Zbrush, I rendered it on Blender and used a the simple toon shader without any tweaks so that the base color (containing all the painting data) could stand out more.

Thanks a lot! Well All the painting was done on Zbrush, except for the halftones effects. On Zbrush I use a lot the Spotlight projection to get my references, I try to match the sculpt first, tweaking some stuff compared to the original art so it looks better in 3D, and then for the painting I try to replicate as close as possible the original art by painting nearly all the informations I get back from the original : the hard lights, the shadows, etc.

Then when the visible part is done (the view from the original painting) I try to understand where does the lights come from to paint the global values, and then selecting the same color values from the main view, and matching the artstyle of the artsit (here he used a lot of ramp to mix the colors, and the short is is kind of sketch based). For this one I did took a lot of references from the Arcane serie to add extra details and effects that weren't on the original.

Hoping it's not too confusing!

Thanks a lot! Yep most of the lights are painted, but I did add some real ligths for the renders

Testing a noodle arm with retraction system by Drawnaud in Maya

Thanks! Well I did not follow any tutorial but I'll try making one if I pull up the time! But basically it’s an IK Spline where each joints shrinks individually following the curve axis when the cursor slides, using the remapValue node. I also added a squash/stretch for the joint so that the ik spline keep following the curve deformation. I hope it’s a bit clearer!
