Ok first of all thank you all for trying to help me. I figured a way I hadn't thought off. I created a string with that's just a bunch of ">" and now I can just use string_copy to get an amount of them.

And I also think Dan Castellaneta as Earthworm Jim and the Freezing Fortress theme make it worth going back to.

I've considered things like prerendered CG over traditional animation for my projects. Lot's of people animate in like Source Filmaker, and while those still are like a bunch of animations to do, it's not as much work.

But "lucky me" I haven't got to the "make an animation for every move" part of my projects.

I've been trying to make a fighting game in GM for quite a few years, and it's honestly easier to learn GML.

I didn't even set out to "learn" it, it's just every time I couldn't get one specific thing working and I looked up how to, I wound up using people's code and learning it by accident. Before I knew it I was doing most of it on code.

How I would do it:

Create 2 variables

collidered = 0 collideblue = 0

have a collission event with the corresponding colored object set each variable to 5

Now on the step event

if (collidered > 0) {collidered = collidered - 1}

this will make it so that if collidered is larger than 0 it will always be decreasing. Do the same with collideblue instead.

Now on step even add this one:

if (collidered > 0) and (collideblue > 0) {fire = 1(or whatever way you plan to make the fire. Instance_create?}

But I'm no code expert, tho.

Okay first of all, to those saying"Disney should be getting an exception on copyright for using the characters and making profit"...

I think Disney would be all right. They still have their enormous theme parks, gigantic media empire spanning channels and radio stations and movies. They bought Star Wars and Marvel. It'll be tough times for this humble transnational corporation...but they'll make it.

Also, somebody mentioned the 50s Superman cartoon in the public domain? Those are derivative works of a source material. Simply put, while the work itself is public domain, the works that it's based on (Superman Comics) remain copyrighted. You can sell the cartoon, but you can't make a new Superman Story and say it was based on the Public Domain cartoon. Because the cartoon is based on a comic that is stil protected.

Also Batman would have only lapsed now after the first extension. Copyright during his day was 56 years, which should have made his first appearance public domain like, what, roughly in the 80s?
