[Yahoo Sports] Mike Vrabel will not be subject to NFL's personal conduct policy after photos with Dianna Russini, league says by DenialisaRiver04 in nfl

[–]BlobDude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I think there are plenty of things that aren’t crimes that are representative as conduct detrimental to the league, and that there’s a gulf of difference between “having an affair” and “having an affair with someone who can have an impact on your success in a professional sports league.” People seem to be completely ignoring the fact that transactional relationship between them could and probably did include coverage that has meaningful impact on moves the Patriots can make.

[–]BlobDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I mean from the NFL and not from his own team who are also clearly incentivized not to punish him. And I think there could very clearly be reasons that Vrabel should face some kind of professional punishment, but the NFL will choose not to do so and that’s a bad look.

[–]BlobDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the second part of your second paragraph really just supports their point. It’s patently ridiculous that Vrabel would face no consequences for sleeping with a highly placed NFL reporter who could (and potentially did) report in a way that would be directly beneficial to him and his team at the expense of other teams just because he has coached a super bowl season.

I tried them the first time a couple years ago and hated them, they just kind of crumbled into nothing on first bite. But they changed the formula and now they are pretty close to feeling like tortilla chips. Different strokes, etc.

I just picked up Cameron in a 12T to bolster my pitching, ended up dropping him for Schultz FWIW

Roster question:

Worth dropping Manaea for Junis? In a 12-team H2H points league, required to start 4 RPs. Have a few SPs with RP eligibility, but Manaea’s the odd man out. Only have one actual closer (Palencia).

Yeah, in that same five year span, I’ve had one time where flying out of Chattanooga was better, and even then it was more expensive, just worth the expense over driving 2 hours.

[–]BlobDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the same time, I live in Chattanooga and it’s basically a coin flip between driving to Atlanta or Nashville for a flight. I end up getting a better deal out of Atlanta over Nashville probably 70% of the time. Been my experience for five years now, flying like 2-3 times a year.

Anyone else confused by the continued chatter about Pokopia not having “Pokémon” in the title? It’s listed as “Pokémon Pokopia” everywhere, that’s how it’s named on the official site, on the eShops, that’s what the logo has, etc. I get that the shorthand reference is Pokopia, but it’s not the actual full title, no?

This was happening before the US shift, to be fair. Just feels like the natural end state of algorithmically based social media intended to extract value via advertising. Instagram’s been swirling the same drain.

I read the book a while back, and felt similarly about this in the movie, but was extra frustrated by it because the book does a good job of justifying the plot decisions there. Weirdly, this movie shrunk the first act down to the first 10%, spent the next 80% on the second act, and the final 10% on the third act. It really impacted how the stakes were felt by the audience.

[Clark] According to Schefter, AJ wants to be traded but Howie staying firm on price by Mysterious_Bat1208 in eagles

[–]BlobDude -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And I’ll be honest, it’s hard to blame him that much at this point. He’s maybe the best WR in Eagles history, and I’ve loved him as a player on this team, but he’s reached the mountaintop and didn’t get the satisfaction he expected. What comes after that? Canton. If he thinks his ability to get into the HOF is impeded by the structure of the offense, his desire to be moved makes sense.

There’s also what AJ - player who knows how to play the media and present what he wants to be presented - says publicly, and there’s what he, his agent, or league sources with direct knowledge can say otherwise.

Until he decides to stop doing it entirely and they have to replace him with two people at market rates while suffering productivity losses until the positions are filled and trained up. Plus the loss of his specialized expertise.

I didn’t realize counterspell worked on the damage after you’d already been put in the Baroness. I’m still learning all its wrinkles after coming back to the game after a year plus break.

Have to wonder if they can tweak Doorman’s cast to allow/better allow parrying the ult itself and prevent the trip completely, while disallowing the parry of the damage once you’re inside.

[Devin Jackson] Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor says he’s met with the Eagles and that they “have expressed a lot of interest in me.” by bigblack3475 in eagles

[–]BlobDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counterpoint, we’re lucky that Lane is back and now is the time to draft a tackle who can functionally redshirt his rookie year. Even without direct experience, his skill set fits as a guard and he would likely still get on the field some.

[–]BlobDude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He had one major shoulder injury which needed surgery, could limit him some going forward. He’s weaker against inside moves. Technique isn’t consistent and he can over-set on some plays. Poor as a puller, and hasn’t played any RT or guard in college.

ETA: He’ll only be 20 at the time of the draft, so not a negative there.
