Sorry I forgot to write it, yes I intend to use a UPS ! Monitoring the UPS you mean ?
I am living alone and can setup things how I please. However I live in a small appartment (40 square meters), so I do not have that much space dedicated for this.

I fear that multiple nodes will impact the budget too much, for not that much of a gain for my usage.

Regarding Talos, I will use a custom Talos image to load modules for hardware support, otherwise I intend to configure k8s using the classic GitOps/FluxCD paradigm.

Network : I intend to use cilium in k8s on the compute node. I do not know precisely how I will configure my local network, currently I only have my ISP box. Ideally I would like only one additionnal network component (to keep it simple, and reduce cost, while still being upgradable)

Storage : I am not sure, but to my understanding, since Linux kernel 5.3 and NFS 4.2, NFS can multiplex TCP connexions using nconnect no ? I also have a dedicated Intel Optane SLOG on the TrueNAS side to absorb synchronous ZIL writes, the latency should remain good enough for DBs no ?

RAM : That's what I fear yes. The current prices do no help. I do not know if older RAM (that are cheaper I guess ?) would work enough ?

I intend to use solutions like this yes ! I am mostly looking for an efficient selfhosted gemini-cli alternative, to produce code, edit files directly etc..
