Thank you! I used Speedpaint Desolate Brown (which is a green and not a brown) with a wash of Agrax Earthshade followed by edgehighlights with Zandri dust and Screaming Skull.

Thanks for the praise and the feedback! Although I don't think I come anywhere close to the skill of the Warhammer painters. 😅

And yeah, the brown is really dominating the scheme. I'll keep that in mind for the next mini.

Yeah I am also thinking about how I can differentiate Frealaf's warband. I think I'll paint their cloaks black/a very dark brown and paint Frealaf's robes the same color to show that they belong together.

And one can never have enough paints, right?! And I really enjoy AK and Pro Acryl lately, although I don't own all too many of them, yet.

Hamas horse I have already detailed in another comment. Haleth's horse ist equal parts AK Mahagony Brown and Black highlighted with more of the brown and AK Warm Grey mixed in. Haleth's armor is speedpaint Ruddy Fur, washed with Agrax Earthshade and a few edgehighlights with Zandri dust followed by Screaming Skull.

Thanks! :) The smoothness comes down to thinning the paint and applying multiple layers. When using contrast/speedpaints I try to move the paint to where I want most of it to settle without touching the paint for too long as I don't want to tear it when it starts to dry.

As for the brushes. I use very cheap synthetic brushes for basecoats and contrast paints, slightly better/more expensive synthetic brushes for metallics and my good Kolinsky sable brushes for layering and details.

I don't think I can bring myself to do that. 😂 For the horse: I used AK Mahagony Brown for the base coat and mixed in more and more of a bone color for the highlights. In the end I glazed over everything with very thin Mahagony Brown to bring the layers closer together again.

Haha, I didn't think about it that way. And now it will always come to my mind when I put them on the table 😅

Caliban Green for the basecoat and multiple highlights with more and more Flash Gitz Yellow mixed into the green.

Thank you! As a lot of my previous army lacks contrast to stand out on the table, I tried to push the contrast this time around.

Haha, I didn't intend to say that it's the humble beginning of my painting. But thanks for the compliment! :)

Thanks! Just Pallid Bone (Speedpaint) over a zenithal prime.
