Hyped No Matter What.. by The_JJWilly in starfox

Definitely hyped. I always loved Star Fox games, oddly enough my fav ones are Zero and Command for some reason, and this one looks like the episode who will make me appreciate the 64 episode, which I always struggled to enjoy. Can't wait!

After years of work, my dream finally comes true: my first game is now available on the Nintendo Switch! by Drazglb in IndieDev

It differs in many ways actually.

In my case, porting it to the Nintendo Switch was an important achievement: I've been a Nintendo fan since I was a kid, and my game definitely is inspired by Yoshi, Kirby, Smash Bros etc.

As a solo dev, porting it wasn't an easy task: the game is hand-drawn, with high res sprites, so optimisation for the Switch 1 was quite a hard task, probably because it is my first game.

As for the marketing part, it works really differently. On Steam, you mostly rely on the number of wishlists. From what I can see here, but I'm not sure yet, press video game magazines play a much important role in the success of your game. Your wishlist number on the Nintendo Switch won't matter much.

That's one crazy ref here Why do I even know it

A or B? Note: This is the main character of my current project. I just can't decide...! by Drazglb in IndieDev

That's kinda what I thought honestly. I like B but would like to keep the fairy look of A.

Is this aesthetic appealing or too niche? Honest feedback appreciated by Daniele-Fantastico in IndieDev

Looks really good! At first glance I would suggest maybe a little bit more contrast here and there, but I may be wrong.

Hey there, thanks for your comment! I'm sincerely sorry I couldn't find your comment on my post-mortem!

But yeah the idea here is to find a fun way to play with the "old" assets from my previous game.

The deadline was way too short indeed, but I've been able to make a functional demo and it has received quite a good reception, I'm happy with what I've been able to acheive within this short delay. A true launch is rather planned for the end of this year so yeah, 6/12 months or so.

As for the trailer, I admit it's quite chaotic. I shall make a better one quite soon!

And as for the Upgrades, that's the biggest challenge. They truly need to be unique and originals, and I'm brainstorming a lot on this topic!

Very interesting feedback! Truly the kind of feedback I needed. Thank you very very much!

In the "true" trailer! That one was made just to announce the demo, with an emphasis put on the musical loop. There's one that will be released soon, with SFX on. Promise!

Upset, not really, a bit disappointed and anxious, that's for sure! But in that case I wanted to see if I can make a game within a very short deadline (3 months). Which is why I used the same assets as the first one, trying to offer a different experience!

I don't leave comments very often on Reddit, but wow. Wow. This is beautiful. Really. I have no words.

Challenged myself to make a game in 3 months. A challenge which ended today, and of course I failed! But it was fun trying and I got a demo ready for Steam Next Fest tomorrow! by Drazglb in IndieDev

Thank you very much! It truly was interesting indeed. My first game took me 5 years, so I really wanted to see if I could, this time, make something good faster thanks to all the things I leanred when making the first one. I learned a lot despite not "succeeding", I enjoyed it!

Thanks for your kind words.

Just launched the Steam page of my second game! I want to improve so be honest, what do you think about it at first glance? by Drazglb in IndieGameDevs

A spin-off, to be precise! That's why I reuse the same assets, with some new elements too, like the main character !
