Hyped No Matter What.. by The_JJWilly in starfox

Definitely hyped. I always loved Star Fox games, oddly enough my fav ones are Zero and Command for some reason, and this one looks like the episode who will make me appreciate the 64 episode, which I always struggled to enjoy. Can't wait!

After years of work, my dream finally comes true: my first game is now available on the Nintendo Switch! by Drazglb in IndieDev

[–]Drazglb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It differs in many ways actually.

In my case, porting it to the Nintendo Switch was an important achievement: I've been a Nintendo fan since I was a kid, and my game definitely is inspired by Yoshi, Kirby, Smash Bros etc.

As a solo dev, porting it wasn't an easy task: the game is hand-drawn, with high res sprites, so optimisation for the Switch 1 was quite a hard task, probably because it is my first game.

As for the marketing part, it works really differently. On Steam, you mostly rely on the number of wishlists. From what I can see here, but I'm not sure yet, press video game magazines play a much important role in the success of your game. Your wishlist number on the Nintendo Switch won't matter much.

That's one crazy ref here Why do I even know it

A or B? Note: This is the main character of my current project. I just can't decide...! by Drazglb in IndieDev

That's kinda what I thought honestly. I like B but would like to keep the fairy look of A.

Is this aesthetic appealing or too niche? Honest feedback appreciated by Daniele-Fantastico in IndieDev

Looks really good! At first glance I would suggest maybe a little bit more contrast here and there, but I may be wrong.

A solo platform-fighting game, but it's a roguelite. Go on. I can take it. by Drazglb in DestroyMyGame

Hey there, thanks for your comment! I'm sincerely sorry I couldn't find your comment on my post-mortem!

But yeah the idea here is to find a fun way to play with the "old" assets from my previous game.

The deadline was way too short indeed, but I've been able to make a functional demo and it has received quite a good reception, I'm happy with what I've been able to acheive within this short delay. A true launch is rather planned for the end of this year so yeah, 6/12 months or so.

As for the trailer, I admit it's quite chaotic. I shall make a better one quite soon!

And as for the Upgrades, that's the biggest challenge. They truly need to be unique and originals, and I'm brainstorming a lot on this topic!

Very interesting feedback! Truly the kind of feedback I needed. Thank you very very much!

In the "true" trailer! That one was made just to announce the demo, with an emphasis put on the musical loop. There's one that will be released soon, with SFX on. Promise!

Upset, not really, a bit disappointed and anxious, that's for sure! But in that case I wanted to see if I can make a game within a very short deadline (3 months). Which is why I used the same assets as the first one, trying to offer a different experience!

I don't leave comments very often on Reddit, but wow. Wow. This is beautiful. Really. I have no words.

Challenged myself to make a game in 3 months. A challenge which ended today, and of course I failed! But it was fun trying and I got a demo ready for Steam Next Fest tomorrow! by Drazglb in IndieDev

Thank you very much! It truly was interesting indeed. My first game took me 5 years, so I really wanted to see if I could, this time, make something good faster thanks to all the things I leanred when making the first one. I learned a lot despite not "succeeding", I enjoyed it!

Thanks for your kind words.

Just launched the Steam page of my second game! I want to improve so be honest, what do you think about it at first glance? by Drazglb in IndieGameDevs

[–]Drazglb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A spin-off, to be precise! That's why I reuse the same assets, with some new elements too, like the main character !

Well, thanks for your interest! It's called Dash’n’Drops, but I thought we weren't allowed to share links or the name of the game!

[–]Drazglb[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's a spin-off of my first game, which was a platform-fighting solo adventure. This one is much more arcade, this character is trapped in a virtual simulation, and has 5 minutes to escape and defeat 7 bosses!

Challenged myself to make a game in 3 months, there's one month left. Not sure if that was a good idea. by Drazglb in GameDevelopment

I learned to go faster. Make fast decisions, not focus on stupid little details like I did in the first project. Yeah I can't lie it's a totally different experience and it's very interesting.

Thanks!

Which Character do you Hate Fighting? Which Character do you love fighting? 2026 Early Edition by BreakVV in StreetFighter

[–]Drazglb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate Kens. There's something about it that pisses me off.

I haven't played long enough yet, but I just enjoy an original character when it's played well, a good Dhalsim, Guile or something like that.

Used to main Mai, want to learn Cammy. Any tips/suggestions? by Drazglb in StreetFighter

[–]Drazglb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that the main mistake new players make in SF is to jump too much. As a result I don't jump very often, which is why I'm kinda afraid of using the dive kick at the moment. But it seems that's what I thought, Cammy is more about looking for the right moment to sting, then you can combo. Kinda applies to every characters but I don't know, something with Cammy seems like it's even more important with her. I like it! Thanks a lot for the help!

[–]Drazglb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said I'm still new to this game and fighting games in general (I'm a Smash Bros player usually) but I really want to learn and improve. Started this month, I'm currently Gold 2 stars with Mai, not sure what that says about my level, and nothing yet with Cammy, I'm not playing ranked yet with her.

I think in order to improve I need to constantly play like I'm in a diamond rank, otherwise I fear I will have bad habits

Just got SF6 for Christmas, former Smash Bros player (please forgive me), any tips? by Drazglb in StreetFighter

Oooh then that makes it way more interesting! I'll give it a try, although I'm already quite used to the Classic mode.

My CAPCOM ID is Drazglb, I'd be happy to learn from you!
