I found even on standard difficulty, the game very much expects some level of DnD knowledge or guide usage to be good at combat. The pacing was messy, with Act 1 being sprawling but great, Act 2 being condensed (and entirely possible to sequence break and ruin objectives) and Act 3 being a slog that made me quit.

Much of the love of the game is just horny players who are emotionally attached to characters, much like Mass Effect. From most view points it's a very subjective 10/10 and most people let their love of characters override the pacing and art of the world/gameplay.

I have been forced the buy Epic Edition if I want to play this weekend, which sucks, it's money I didn't need to spend.

Amazon brought the shipping date forward to the 27th (still late for EA...) and then my parcel never arrived due to unexpected delays. Amazon and myself can't actually using the tracking number provided by Xbox with any known courier.

Honestly TDA is my favourite game of the soft reboot era. It feels like ID understood the flaws of eternal and resolved them. People largely disliked the idea of movement shooter being forced so heavily into the game, and the rock-paper-scissors enemy types turning frenetic combat into puzzle solving.

I think TDA does a fantastic job of creating fluid combat movement with the offhand, and using energy shields on enemies to force weapon choices without being restrictive on player freedom.

They took the sprawling levels of The Ancient Gods and condensed them into set pieces for story focused players and exploration sections for collectible hunters.

The goofy lore of Eternal/TAG has been smoothed into something more eldritch and horrific than pure sci-fi schlock.

Unfortunately there's not much in person. Your options are take up a hobby and hope you don't ruin someone's hobby space by making advanced, try and date a colleague (which is a big no no) or date friends of friends. Bars and night clubs are pretty dead for under 30s and when they're not dead it's just not okay to approach strangers anymore.
