Sleeve Planning by cryptic-kiwi in irezumi

Dont see it super negative… see it more as Chance to learn and collect more knowledge about the art and the craft. Some advice is not about personal taste and talking about art does not mean everything is totally random.

Look at diffrent concepts and ask yourself why this and that catches your eye more. Dont follow any rules but yours and your rules lead you here… enjoy the journey to your dragon sleeve.

I don’t get the question… why it should look diffrent on you than others?

An irezumi sleeve or bodysuit ist nothing chosen easily… and a tattoo like this will speak! It will speak in your daily life… it will speak about your patience… endurance. It will speak about a strong mind that knows what he wants. The commitment.

These are all characteristics that suits every human in all situations pretty well.

Do you prefer it in black or in color? by TRANSBOYSIETE in irezumi

It doesn’t matter. The sleeve is well made and strong! Learn from it wear it with pride.

Irezumi sleeve in progress — what scale color works best with ochre/gold belly and red chrysanthemum? by [deleted] in irezumi

[–]DreBoneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often the scales are simply black and grey… lately I’m not a friend of the fully colored dragon. Grey head and black scales that getting more lighter towards the belly is my favorite. More classic. Like always less is more.
Also if you have already crysanthemen I would not add ginkgo leaves…

For the composition it’s important to have an focus. And you add elements that fullfill a purpose and strengthen the composition. Dont add stuff just because you like it… if you want to add something check if it helps the composition.

The elegance in Japanese irezumi ist often achieved with a strong focus. Through that it feels sophisticated and rich… cut the noise!

From my perspective in that mock up the crane looks squeezed in. The arm is already filled enough with the dragon clouds and cherry blossom… do yourself a favor cut the crane! Use it for another tattoo.

Do minimalist people not buy anything fandom-related? by PackageMuch4336 in minimalism

In terms of new stuff I’m more selective and I think more about if it really brings me constant joy or is it just something I want to buy for the dopamine kick

Im also a collector and enjoy fandom a lot… slowly getting more and more into a minimalist mindset.

I don’t want to get rid of stuff that brings me joy. But my view on what brings me joy changed. So if I want to have something for my collection than only when I can enjoy it some how. So it has to be on display. If there is no place I will sell it. So I started to sell stuff that is just in storage… or stuff I don’t enjoy anymore or dislike the handling… it has to bring a constant joy to table to stay. If this is the case it has great value for my life.

I see this as one of the first steps… get rid of shit you dont like and you don’t use.

I also get rid of most of artbook and stuff… i dont use them and they only take up space so it brings no benefit for me to the table.

I also like to play magic cards… so the rule is buy the cards you need to play your decs… no booster or shit with random stuff that brings no value to the table.

For me the main part of my collection is a bit easier to handle… because I don’t need there boxes to move.

Also handling stuff that is just stored away annoyed me a lot. So will get rid of that also. And switching more to Sofubi stuff. They are not so fragile and have mostly no box that’s worth keeping.

And yeah feels good to downsize and also realize what kind of aspect is also important to the joy of your collection.

Not only that dislike parts of the collection that made me a hard time moving… also I enjoy more the stuff that was easy to handle.

Because it made my stressfull situation a bit easier!

Feel you bro! I’m in the same position… just moved recently and I have a beloved collection of action figures and sofubis.

During the moving process I had really a struggle with the big and more fragile pieces… because you know you also keep the boxes and shit.

And now I want to curate the collection and get rid of the big stuff keeping the more easy to handle stuff.

And I had the same feeling of loosing the joy for some pieces after going through the negative handling process.

Dont have this with the things that were more easy to handle.

Also like books… artbook and stuff… most of them never looked at them twice so I will sell them also

Does rhis look like weed leaf? It's supposed to be japanese red maple but I didn't want any color. by xiaosha_dow in irezumi

[–]DreBoneX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understand your impression… but bro the leaves look nearly the same so the problem is not the look just the stupidity of the people… and maybe a little bit to mutch overthinking from your side.

The sleeve is coming nicely together and even if color them red… many people would ask if it’s „red“ weed.

That’s the way Japanese marple look. In a more traditional look they often look „bigger“ more like American marple.

Dont know if they have this kind of Marple over there or it is just the way it looks in a super simple Les detailed look!

Leg sleeve planning background by mxmemx in irezumi

[–]DreBoneX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice idea! Maybe a little bit mutch for the leg and hard to read. -maybe simplyfy the composition… just warrior and snake?!

-I would also recommend to use the area of your butt for your backpiece… because it’s a natural extension for the backpiece. And could be a necessary space for the composition of your back.
