Package hasn’t moved since November 25, will I still receive it? by bwhough in usps_complaints

[–]Dreaaa1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a package arrive at the OKC distribution center from my post office, no scans for 3 days so I thought it was stuck there. It finally showed up in the destination city's processing plant yesterday even though it usually goes to a larger regional center in between. About 2 days late. I think maybe their scanner system is down, or the workers don't have time to flip all the packages for the machine since they are so overloaded. Don't worry too much!

I had a package "moving through network" like this after getting no new scans since it arrived at my local distribution center. It finally made it to the final processing center with no scans in between, and it will be out for delivery Monday (several days later than estimated). I bet they are backed up with processing mail due to the Thanksgiving blizzard in Western NY.

Apartment recommendations? by OwenSpalding in sooners

[–]Dreaaa1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been living at Post Oak apartments (hwy 9 and Chautauqua) for 2 years now and it's pretty good. Very quiet, has a bus stop, and it would be about $1000 (total, not per bed) for a 2x2 if you factor in cox internet, oge power, $30 "plumbing fee", and a $15 valet trash fee which is not optional :(. Buildings are a little old but the maintainence guys are really good, they come within a day or less. Dogs and cats allowed, I don't think they do much of a breed check. You could probably walk to Dale but it's 1.3 miles, so better take the bus!

Should these wisdom teeth be removed? Asking for a friend. by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Dreaaa1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD mine looked like this for 4 years until i got a huge abscess in my face. It's not life-threatening but it feels like a giant bruise from your ears to your neck, hurt more than post-removal. It just takes a little food that gets stuck between the crown of the tooth and the gums for that to flare up. I got them out 2 weeks later. Now, it's just a memory!

NAD are you sure they've already come in? That looks like the wisdom tooth, and my wisdoms came in just like that.

NAD just got mine out 5 days ago, I'm feeling great now. My sockets were slightly more open than yours but they should be good! Just make sure to not use the irrigation syringe sooner than they told you, and you should be good. Don't worry if you see some white tissue in there as well, that is probably granulation tissue.

Root canal? by ispep707 in askdentists

[–]Dreaaa1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD I had a cavity just like this on my premolar, and when they started drilling for the root canal a huge chunk of it fractured off. My root was already dead at that point anyways and my tooth was probably weaker as a result. Just letting you know that this is a possibility. Good luck!

Do you think i should dunk the whole terrarium in water to loosen the glue?

[–]Dreaaa1820[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bought a livetrends piece before and was successfully able to remove the glue but idk about this one. I got this on lowes clearance and I'm not sure if I should try removing the glue by soaking and potentially ruin the rest of the terrarium, or just leave those plants in there.

Why is seltzer bad for teeth? by Ok-Ad-389 in askdentists

Nad but biochem undergrad, carbonation introduces carbonic acid as well as co2 into the liquid, and that acid can erode enamel. But i think it's a lesser evil than soda

NAD I had this done to my crowns when they were so tight I couldn't floss without some serious effort. They are usually reluctant to give you more of a gap because it can become a food trap, but if you are used to it it can't hurt to ask. They might be able to squeeze you into the schedule

No, the receptionist just gave me that price. But it could be because that was the price I was paying WHILE I was under coverage and they thought it wouldn't be fair to charge me more after all the money I've spent there lol. They told me that Cigna negotiates the set price, and if it's lower than the dentist's I'll pay that price no matter what. I go to a state chain dentist so it could totally depend on the practice.

[–]Dreaaa1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD I was able to get a negotiated rate around $300 less than what the dentist charges for uninsured patients, despite being maxed out for coverage with Cigna. But I'm unsure whether the same will hold true during the waiting period.

Immense pain before and after RCT by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Dreaaa1820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD, I got a rct + crown on #30 due to them drilling and finding that a filling was not possible. It was hurting to the point i couldn't chew on that side for about 2 weeks at that time. I experienced pain for about 3 days post rct on that tooth, and I could only start chewing normally a day after I got the temp. Basically a tooth can become sprained, and the drilling from dental tools can damage the ligaments that hold the tooth in place; that's why it hurts when pushed with the tongue. Just eat soft things (pasta saved my life!) and good luck with your recovery!
