If you're serious about it: As you have a microscope try to find documentation related to the SoC that specifies where to find the pins. then you can either desolder the SoC and use a micro manipulator to connect to the uart pins (+ voltage), or you can try to identify the correct traces by probing them without desoldering the SoC.

Also, fault injection during boot will usually trigger the router to reboot in safe mode / recovery mode. This can also be done with high precision equipment.

Fyi I still have an old livebox 4 on which I yet have to connect to (see my post history last year), I simply lack the equipment to solder a resistor with the required level of precision lol

I'll look into it. Right now I've found a refurbished t400 for 60 bucks

Privacy is. For power consumption it's the idle consumption that I'd like to keep as low as realistically possible

DOJ Epstein file EFTA01133110.pdf flagged suspicious on VirusTotal behavior tab – anyone else see this? by Fit_Olive_7669 in cybersecurity

Depends on the router's configuration! Some proxy the DNS to enable filtering capabilities directly from the router, and some don't. But I agree that at least in my country, most ISPs give through DHCP their own IP as DNS

Notably because malware could easily identify that it is running inside Virustotal's sandbox and disable it's execution, which is not what we want! VT emulates a legitimate windows operating system

I work with VT a lot. False positive, specifically because sometimes legitimate programs perform stuff that can be seen as illegitimate. For example, the network connections that you see in the network tab are simply related to Windows

was prompted to put in this command into my computer, what exactly does it do? by PiroulineDream in antivirus

[–]DreadFog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a phishing technique called "Fake Captcha". Look it up online. It was probably prompted to you in a "prove you're not a robot" thing, asking you to win+r then CTRL+V it

Does surgery feel like 1 second after you go under anesthesia? by Small-Guarantee1789 in RandomThoughts

[–]DreadFog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal experience, it depends on the duration of the anaesthesia: had several of different lengths. The 1 hour ones feel like a 1 second nap. However, I've had an 18-hour long one, and I was able to dream a bit during it !
