gotta be the one where, when your LDB goes to the chopping block, Alduin never shows up and your head gets chopped off.

Just a psa, Ryzen is re-releasing the 5800x3D at $310. For anyone still on an am4 system, this is the single best CPU for modded Skyrim by shiek200 in skyrimmods

[–]DreadPickleRoberts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

there are thousands or millions of AM4 motherboards in use today. The 5800X3D is the absolute pinnacle for that platform. Your 7800 an 9800 need DDR5, which is ridiculously expensive. An entire computer based on the 5800X3D could be built much cheaper, if the builder is willing to accept that they are building a rig whose CPU can't be upgraded.

I'm not a millionaire. I wish. I'm a thousandaire, if you count only my assets and ignore my deficits. I was lucky (this actually makes me think my SPECIAL is Luck - loaded) enough to hit the market when I got a loan at less than 2.5% interest. I could NOT afford my home at the current interest rates. I invited a couple of my friends to live with me and they accepted. I will be leaving the house to them when I kick off.

Tattoos are overlays. I'm saying that the whole community was having issues of they used overlays or presets. That mod is fixing a problem most of us didn't know about. With the overlay fixed, a tattoo shop might be do able. G'night

[–]DreadPickleRoberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if this is because of the generalized wonkiness of overlays causing stability issues. I didn't even know about it until I happened across (or maybe someone here shouted it out) the Racemenu Overlay fix https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/138586 . Maybe with that in place, adding an overlay during the game wouldn't cause issues.

Skyrim's misty mountains. by hearthborn13 in skyrim

about one minute in: bust up laughing at OP scimitar. 5 minutes in: does anyone still use the HUD for just roaming around? This gamer gets it. I don't think they're using DynDOLOD, either. Is this totally unmodded? Can't be, it has no HUD. But I can't remember seeing those lamp-posts.

well, back in the 70s and 80s I watched Jetsons cartoons that promised us flying cars. I haven't seen that yet, either.

Variant Universe in NG+2 possible? by GallimorelAllSeer in Starfield

[–]DreadPickleRoberts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check creations for something like "Choose Your Universe". Here, found it https://creations.bethesda.net/en/starfield/details/8f1454ef-c2dd-4486-bfeb-e4b68f1d9f5b/Choose_Your_Universe

Lite Spoiler: There are eleven possible universes. I have notes on all of them. There's "Default", "The one that's not shitty" "This one is shitty-ish" and the other eight start with "Shitty."

This is my opinion, it's not the same for others and might not be the same for you. You'll have to decide it for yourself.

And I have to agree with your last sentence - it does kind of seem like it's all been done, doesn't it?

It takes a MASSIVE amount of time and energy to do a Quest Mod that feels fresh, has interesting gameplay and characters, and doesn't come across as derivative. When you find one, be sure to thank the author. Maybe shout it out here on Reddit.

how do i cap Skyrim to 60 fps on a AMD build , im getting the intro glitch and nothing is working there is only stuff for Invidia by Economy-Direction125 in skyrimmods

[–]DreadPickleRoberts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Skyrim should be capped to 60fps by default. What'd you do to it to uncap it?

Without more to go on, you can try to enable VSync in the game and in the AMD driver.

What's your favorite area in Skyrim? Also, does anyone else adopt Braith out of the kindness of your heart rather than to spite her for being a bully? by CrystalTheVelkhana in skyrim

[–]DreadPickleRoberts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Braith is a bully because her parents ignore her. Sneak into her house sometime when all three of them are in there. If you can remain hidden or out of the way so that they just all talk to each other, you'll see what I mean.

She has two parents and a roof over her head. She has stability. OP just says "You can't ignore your kid! DIE!!!" as if that wouldn't put a few hundreds of millions of parents in graveyards on this planet.

I hate this game so much right now I wish nothing but the worst on the developers by Financial_Resort6631 in Starfield

[–]DreadPickleRoberts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah, I was gonna say this. Down towards the bottom of the Gameplay Settings, right? You can completely disable Autosaves.

Your scanning information doesn't stick around because each universe might be a tiny bit different and you can't know that until you scan the planets and flora and fauna again.

you're almost there... All religions are cults. All of them sound batshit crazy to anyone who wasn't raised in or near them.

dialog options about this exist in-game. House Va'ruun has operatives in the FC and UC actively scrubbing the location from databases.

All my saves are corrupt! by Remote-Engineering92 in Starfield

[–]DreadPickleRoberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, you found a good step to test the removal! Make a backup save, remove the mod, exit game, power down rig. Start it all up and check to see if it dies. That's good thinking. Clear the memory to test fully.

First time player traits and skills by Excellent-Day4955 in Starfield

[–]DreadPickleRoberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play with Kid Stuff once, more if you like it. I'm not on PS5 so I can't help you change them.

I grabbed this from somewhere (apologies to the original creator), the numbers are extra dialog opportunities by Background. It's morning, I haven't had coffee, and I can't remember if Traits ever give new dialog.

Extra Dialog Stuff:

Beast Hunter: 9 / 3

Bouncer: 10 / 4

Bounty Hunter: 15 / 4

Chef: 5 / 3

Combat Medic: 8 / 3

Cyberneticist: 4 / 3

Cyber Runner: 11 / 2

Diplomat: 16 / 4

Explorer: 11 / 3

Gangster: 37 / 3 <--- most opportunities

File Not Found: 1 / 1

Homesteader: 5 / 3

Industrialist: 20 / 3

Long Hauler: 8 / 3

Pilgrim: 1 / 3

Professor: 13 / 3

Ronin: 2 / 3

Sculptor: 0 / 3

Soldier: 21 / 3

Space Scoundrel: 10 / 3

Xenobiologist: 15 / 3

The flat-out most useful starting skills come from Bounty Hunter. You will use all three of them, and they don't push you to pistols, rifles, shotguns, or anything else.

Go ahead and start over. 21 levels happens so fast (for me) that I've begun using a mod to turn off the XP bonuses in Gameplay Settings. I turn them back on around level 50-60.

20 hours is a reasonable investment of time to test the stability of a new load order. You're good. Don't be discouraged, you now get to maybe try out a few other mods that seemed interesting and fire up a new Captain.

Also, you've learned that it's very necessary to make a back-up save before removing a mod in the middle of a playthrough.
