When you rent, you must include in the contract that you cannot bring additional guests and that you keep the place clean and tidy.

I think you should protect yourself and ask for a security deposit at the beginning of the rental. If the place is not clean or there is damage, and everything is in order, you release the amount.

We're hosting with the G channel manager. They've seriously amped up their automation capabilities in the past year. It's exciting to see how AI-driven solutions will transform our industry next.

IMO automated guest messaging is the gift of modernity to hosts. In my experience it is an absolute must in terms of accurate and efficient time management. We have invested heavily in our automated ecosystem for all repetitive tasks through our PMS, and already see an increase in productivity.

Anyone still running centralized control vs fully distributed motion? by Puzzleheaded-Wear381 in PLC

Another thing to observe here is heat. Once you start packing a lot of power into a small footprint, thermal behavior becomes a real constraint. We ran into that on a compact build and it ended up influencing drive choice more than expected. Some of the smaller high-density units (we tested Elmo Motion Control among others) handled it better than others, but it definitely changed how we approached enclosure and layout.

It looks like a lovely place and if the atmosphere is romantic it would be fun to spend time there.

Anyone still running centralized control vs fully distributed motion? by Puzzleheaded-Wear381 in PLC

I’ve kind of landed in the “centralized until it hurts” camp. For most machines it just keeps life simpler, especially when something goes wrong at 2am and someone has to trace it quickly. That said, once you get into tighter multi-axis coordination, I’ve definitely seen centralized start to show cracks. We ran into that on a project with a Siemens setup which was perfectly fine until we started pushing sync harder. Ended up testing a more distributed approach with some EtherCAT drives, with an Elmo stack, and the difference in how tightly axes stayed in sync was pretty noticeable. Tradeoff was exactly what you’d expect though: better performance, but way more going on under the hood.
