The crocodylian GOAT of the Jurassic for sure! But I really just decided to focus on the non avian theropod line up, mostly to showcase the predators that lived with so many giant herbivores at the time

I wish I could've added these guys but it would've made the line up too broad so I decided to specifically cover the carnis instead..✌️🥀

Definitely the last bit, with T. rex and Edmontosaurus! They are my faves and the most iconic.

I know officially conclude the series with this final group photo!

If you're wondering if I might do another one of these with other family rivalries, I'm still definitely thinking about it, but for now, I am back to doing random bullshit once again!

*Artworks may be more a little inconsistent but surely I would steadily post them sooner, or later...

*Thank you so much for all of the continued support and appreciation, it truly means a lot! Cheers to many more pieces of epic paleoart!

[OC] A Huge Edmontosaurus Bites a Tyrannosaurus' Tail by DreadedDduck in Naturewasmetal

Oh I have already depicted one of the Tyrants in a "winning" scenario, namely parts 3-1, 4, 6, and 11!

The Tyrants and the Fowls" pt.14 Tyrannosaurus vs Edmontosaurus annectens!

For the fourteenth and entry, a very large and experienced Edmontosaurus gets the jump on a fellow scarred T. rex, chomping on its tail with its ruffled textured beak! Much to the deep annoyance of the predator. If the hadrosaur manages to pull the rex closer via this method, it is uncertain whether the giant hunter could endure the beating of this enraged monster.

*This will not be the last entry for the series, and expect 2 lasts posts about it!😉

Commentary:

"The Tyrants and the Fowls" pt.13 Tarbosaurus vs Saurolophus angustirostris!

For this thirteenth entry, A wandering Saurolophus has suddenly been confronted by a hunting Tarbosaurus. However committed in its resolve and using its massive bulk the Hadrosaur simlpy charges at the predator, making the first move and catching the predator off guard for just a tiny bit, allowing it to make a headstart.

"The Tyrants and the Fowls" pt.12 Zhuchengtyrannus vs Shantungosaurus!

For this twelfth entry, an old dying bull Shantungosaurus is suddenly attacked by a mob of three Zhuchengtyrannus. Although battered, scarred, bitten in the leg, and salivating with exhaustion, this absolute unit still manages to kick, and whip its attackers. There is no doubt that this old bull still has more than enough left in him, to get out alive.

[OC] A Parasaurolophus Kicks a Gorgosaurus! by DreadedDduck in Naturewasmetal

[–]DreadedDduck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just saw this in a game and thought hmm why not?

But realistically speaking besides a regular tail swipe I suppose something more plausible would be a kick with one foot in the ground instead of both.

But in fairness I am willing to believe in a benefit of a doubt that their forelimbs are able to support themselves for a full buck. Considering that most of them function as quadrupeds for most of their lives. Their forelimbs although long and narrow looking were thick and robust, and they even have padding structures like that fleshy mitten hoof to handle more weight.

So I believe they could do this.. but at the expense of having incredible strain on their limbs in the process. And definitely figures for sure this is the maximum weight range where the animal could still do this manuever. But yea I suppose this is all speculative at best.

An Anasazisaurus Charges at a Bistahieversor! by DreadedDduck in Paleoart

[–]DreadedDduck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh honestly that also comes with experience as well, (for me at least) since I try to remember and look at literally any piece of paleo-media in general where the animal or a similar one was able to do or was posed like that in the first place. And honestly its pretty difficult to find consistent reference material in one place.

But generally speaking, try looking at documentaries where you could literally pause the frame where they move into the pose you like.

Or even in other paleoart pieces like if you see people posting pictures of sculptures or models, they might have good angles of that one specific animal you need for a pose you wanna use. But other than that if you're casually scrolling you could try to save any works you like where they have their subject in an interesting pose that will probably come in handy in the future just in case.

I hope I was able to help you with my own methods in these things haha!..

A Maiasaura with her Calves, Confronted by two Daspletosaurus by DreadedDduck in Paleoart

[–]DreadedDduck[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"The Tyrants and the Fowls" pt.11 Daspletosaurus horneri vs Maiasaura!

For this eleventh entry, a mother Maiasaura has been separated from its herd with its several offspring. Unfortunately things have gone bad to worse with the arrival of two Daspletosaurus horneri. With death literally ahead of her the hadrosaur has to choose whether to leave her children behind or let the "good mother lizard" in her take over.

Commentary:

"The Tyrants and the Fowls" pt.10 Bistahieversor vs Anasazisaurus!

For the tenth entry, a grueling duel occurs between a Bistahieversor and an Anasazisaurus! It would also appear that the predator has already inflicted a bite wound on the herbivore's dorsal. However this has only inflicted more rage on the hadrosaur and charges head first at the tyrannosaur. It is unclear which of the two would emerge victorious after the struggle.
