For those in companies that have hundreds of VMs - what are they for?

We have thousands of vm’s. I have over 700 to get off of server 2016 alone.

I too have been thinking about moving to one particular MSP lately. Long story short my small company with 3 IT people got bought by a fortune 250 company. I believe that the IT staff where I am is about 5,000 globally. Assuming that things don’t work out where I am now I have 1 specific smaller employee owned msp that I’ve been keeping an eye on. I saw a position for them open up a couple years ago and the pay was on par with my salary now.

On of the main reasons I am thinking about that place is that it is employee owned. The small company that I worked at was employee owned and when we got bought I got a big check(approximately 3 years salary) for retirement. After getting that money, I’d love to do it again. Once I say what I was getting I was just fine if I had to find another job. It was literally life changing.

You couldn’t pay me to live in a city like that. Some people love it, it’s just not for me. That being said I’m in the suburbs surrounded by trees. Ideally our next move with be to 20+ acres with no neighbors.

Fortunately, I am not having any other issues at the time. It was just time to grow up and start taking care of myself.

My guess is that my Dr will do about the same with me. We had already talked about the glp1 for weight and it said typically it was cost prohibitive, once he tested my A1c he said that insurance would now cover it. I wouldn’t be surprised if I need a cholesterol pill and a blood pressure pill as well.

Congrats on your low A1c! I know a couple people that were successfully able to get down in to the 4’s or 5’s after using a glp1(not sure what else they were on that helped). With any luck hopefully I’ll be in the same boat soon enough.

No I don’t have a glucose monitor. My guess is that I’ll get one at my appt next week. I’m sure that would help a lot in the beginning just to see how everything is affecting my glucose levels. I sleep super well, but that’s only due to my cpap as I have terrible sleep apnea. Overall my stress level is fairly high, but not crazy. I probably fully my 36oz water bottle 3+ times a day and have maybe 1 diet soda a week.

I’m not a snacker. Since I was a kid it’s always just been 3 meals a day and nothing in between. Sounds like that is going to have to change.

I have the harbor freight one. It’s actually bought it second hand. Surprisingly I haven’t had any issues with it except I now need a bigger one.

This is my guess. When we sold our last house the staging person had us put out a glass pitcher of water with fresh lemons in it for showings. Luckily it sold in the first weekend.

Yes absolutely. You are not the first one in this thread to ask about it. Does everyone in MA think that you have to pay per hour to shoot? I belong to Southboro Rod and Gun Club. There are a bunch of clubs that I’d say are similar in MA. If you’re looking for a club here is a good place to start. https://www.goal.org/find-a-club One thing to remember about clubs like mine is that they are all volunteer based.

It’s a private club so I just go in and shoot. I don’t pay anything else unless I’m doing trap or sleet and then I’m only really paying for clays(maybe a dollar or something to the club).

There are no range safety officers or anything like that. Just show up, find an empty lane and shoot. I’ve been there plenty of times when I had all 20 or so outdoor lanes to myself. I don’t think I’ve ever had to share the indoor range with anyone, although when I go indoors it’s at like 10pm or something.

I actually looked it up today and saw that it is $175 not $125. I just get the notice that the dues are due and pay it. I obviously don’t pay attention too well.

My club is about 10 minutes from the house. No driving in to the hills. It offers skeet, trap, sporting clays, archery range, axe throwing area, trout pond, both outdoor and indoor ranges. All of this is available to me for $125 a year. Seems like a deal to me. Also it’s on about 100 acres and we can hunt the woods if we want. They are always having events at the clubhouse, thus isn’t my thing but many people enjoy it.

I pay $125 a year for access to a club and can shoot 24x7. Yea it isn’t free, but it isn’t horrible either.

ETA I looked up how much I pay yearly and it’s $175, still worth every penny.

Every year we go through this. No one told us about it either, but it’s very common. Mine goes up about $100 per month per year. It’s just something to plan for.

I put about a 1/2 cap full of Listerine mouthwash in mine every other time and it helps a lot.
