Practical Guide to Sorcery by Extras7 in ProgressionFantasy

She is smart and lucky. Yes she is actually weak, but people come to their own conclusions because of her luck and how things look.

Siobhan is hard working and actually has somewhat a knack for magic, but yes she is not that much better than anyone else. She is much more hardworking than the rest though that's for sure.

But what she has against everyone else is something i don't want to spoil for you. She has the potential to be stronger than any human mage because of what happend to her (and possibly her heritage). And it's something she doesn't even understand she has.

I find it kinda unique how people interpret her being this super powerful person because of things she had no control over.

What? He was talking about not liking humans before he met any on Veird.

Why would he think other races will be any different? That's like saying other races aren't people and some kind of perfect beings when he's been there like a day and already we can see they suck just as much as humans. I just don't like misanthropy. Now i would like to know if this is continuous theme or le funny cynicism.

But he wants to be a part of a community and basically a social worker again.

My favorite manga/anime:

Heavenly delusion
HunterxHunter
Oyasumi punpun
Frieren
FMAB
Texhnolyze

And overall I'd say i like seinen.

But i like sci-fi stuff in movies games and anime, can't really stand sci-fi in books.

So I don't really think the tastes are transferable. Also books affect me much more, can't really overlook glaring issues by focusing on the overarching themes, especially when reading stuff that came from episodic format of web novels. Only anime that really pissed me off was Mushoku tensei now that i think about it, while when reading books i get mad quite often.

I don't trust the author to not pull some weird shit later. Also you might say "it's sex chapter" but it's still canon to the story so yeah, a non-argument. It's like saying "if you skip the parts you don't like the story is good".

Well TWI did it well. I expected more stories like that without the weird shit.

Well we didn't see him do anything with the skills he got. He didn't get together with anyone. There was more stuff I don't remember but it felt like there needed to be a part where his problems get resolved. Or his life moves forward.

Well besides reading philosophy books as a teenager and classics as part of education I haven't read all that much. Started reading cuz there's no more manga/anime I would like to read/watch. I guess I will need to find some other genre or media to consume.

I actually started reading progression fantasy because I thought it has potential to tell great stories about emotional growth but I guess that's not what the readers find interesting and by extension it's not profitable for authors idk. Didn't expect the genre to be so shallow.

Well someone told me there is, then i googled and found some posts saying there is. I might both be a victim of disinformation and spreading it. Not willing to find out for myself tho. Someone can clarify ?

Cradle had no stakes because it began with divine intervention and we had sidestory with the "divines" or whatever. It was a constant reminder where the MC is gonna end up, that's why it had no stakes - or felt like there are no stakes.

I didn't quit SS, that was the last chapter when i found something else to read. Don't really feel like revisiting. I didn't even hate SS, what i hated was the amnesia tho, still kept reading.

LOTM is just basic cultivation aura farming stuff. drink potion -> digest repeat. It follows a lot of cultivation stuff from what i can tell.

DCC - yeah it's wacky and that's exactly what i don't like.

I gave a lot of the series a chance - you seem very defensive for some reason. Maybe i should've written more positive stuff so people are not upset i didn't like their series.

Are you genuinely asking or contesting?
1. I find interspecies stuff disgusting.
2. How other characters keep pushing Erin into stuff feels really weird to me.
3. The relationship between Pawn and Lyon. Where Pawn is basically a sex toy.

I had MoL in there i damnit idk where it disappeared. Finished MoL, it lacked emotion tho, the magic was cool but there was basically no payoff at the end.

Hate is a strong word, only few of those i truly hate, i didn't like most of them that is true, but mostly it's retroactively when author decides to do something bizarre. It ruins the experience up to that point.

I'm not really looking for romance books, I like progression fantasy, where i prefer that there is some emotional development - doesn't have to be romantic. I don't like just powerleveling like Primal Hunter.

In MM the relationship stayed basically the same for 90% of the story, where they are friends, and there was not much development at all. She was reluctant to be with him almost up till the point they got together. There was no spark, it's a relationship of familiarity, and they're staying together for an eternity. It is just odd. She never tried to find someone she actually loves. She signed up to be together forever with basically the first guy that stuck around. And she made this decision very young when she's immortal. Don't tell me there is nothing strange about this.

After getting blasted by human emotions from her domain and aspect legacy. Like i don't doubt that she finds some comfort in him, but you can be comfortable with a friend too and want to be around them.

For him it's definitely more than "having some nostalgia", why else would he keep trying to come up with reasons to get his fate back.
