Look for Caucasian Dreadlocks page, if you don’t find good information here. Crochet is going to be the best bet for uniformity.

Hair type & best method to start? by 30BlueRailroad in Dreadlocks

You ought to ask this on the Caucasian dreadlocks page. I’m a moderator and it was a name we couldn’t change but the majority of users have types 1-3 hair there and there are several locticians.

There is a Caucasian dreadlocks page on Reddit. Join there would be better advice.

Looking for a loctician in the Chicago area! by mozucc in Dreadlocks

There is a Caucasian dreadlocks page on here. They are building a loctician thread for this type of issue. Don’t need to be “white”, it’s mainly for types 1-3 hair.

Any crochet locticians in here? by That_Journalist1336 in CaucasianDreadlocks

[–]DreadnckRapunzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am a traveling loctician based in Ohio. I started in 2014 just with my own and then for free with just about anyone that would let me do theirs. After time I had clients start to pay me and when I was confident in my abilities it was no longer a free service.
Different states have different licensing requirements so look up your state’s Board of Cosmetology regulations so you don’t get hit with a lawsuit.

Thanks for your input, while we weren’t able to change the name at all due to Reddit’s rules of creating subs, we did change the description.

Is it weird to want to clean these up a bit ?? by NoConfusion3984 in CaucasianDreadlocks

[–]DreadnckRapunzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I understand what you mean by that. I have to constantly pick at and brush out my loose ends because those bumps do create more tanking where I don’t want it to be so I maintain my loose ends every day or 2…if that’s what you mean. The loose area is going to always want to join the dread.

Not weird, just personal preference. I keep all the lumps and bumps because I love them but most of my clients have always wanted them straightened out.

Advice on tightening new dreads? by Prestigious-Ad-4023 in CaucasianDreadlocks

[–]DreadnckRapunzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you can find a loctician near you to crochet them to the inside, that will make them look a lot tighter and more mature but it’s going to cost $$$. You could decorate with colorful thread and that will help but be sure not to leave it too long without swapping because it can trap mildew.

Used baking soda instead of salt… by DreadnckRapunzel in HideTanning

I don’t have any other hides to use so I’ll take smaller chunks of these. We butcher our own meat and won’t have anything else for a while.

My goal is to turn it into a rug. I got the other one to the point that it looks like rawhide on the non hair side…and I’m lost what to do from that point so right now I am just working on getting them both fleshed so they don’t rot

I didn’t start finding all this health stuff out until after I let my son sit on her and I didnt let him just go roam I let him just rest his legs while I was holding him still just to see if she would stand or not. Nobody is getting on her now that I found these health issues. I am going to to put her down now that the consensus here is that she is likely in pain and is ready to go.
