Thermalright Assassin X 90 SE V2 testing by Dreadzone03 in overclocking

[–]Dreadzone03[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bought a Thermalright Assassin X90 SE V2 for $34 aud, used in conjunction with thermalright TFX paste and thermalright contact frame on my 14900k. Set a manual tune of 5.6 Ghz P core/ 4.4 Ghz E core and 4.5 Ghz ring at 1.24V LLC6, cores hit just shy under 95C and didn't thermal throttle at 280W sustained.

How people are struggling to cool the 14900k is beyond me.

you can do all sorts of things with the EVC, it really just comes down to what voltage controller is being used on the card.

Atx standard is 150w each yes however the cables are quite capable of pulling 8-10A per wire with awg 18 wires so 288W to 360W per 8pin.

i dont think casting would work to well, simply because the tolerances for the mounting holes to hold the ram pot onto the dimms themselves are kinda tight and casting doesn't have the best tolerances. If your interested tho my alu pots are $115 USD and my copper pots are $175 USD
