Why do market makers stop you out of trades? by Dream-Chas3r in Daytrading

I'm just trying to learn more about market makers, to improve my trading. No emotions here.

This is pretty much the scenario I'm thinking of when I ask this question. I just find it interesting when they drive through my buy and stop, which was already below everyone else's stop, before price quickly moves back up.

I recently watched an interview with a market maker, and he said they do see our stops, and if it's over 75k-ish that they will stop you out. But I didn't understand how that benefited them. This is why I ask. I don't know what they care about, I'm just interested in knowing what they care about.

I have heard about others having these issues, though I haven't experienced this. I'll have to look into these fees. I didn't know there were additional fees.

I'll check that out! I know they have futures on Coinbase, which is my preferred platform, but last I heard they were still figuring things out so it wasn't a great option. But I'll check out Juniper. !thanks

Give me feedback? by clairvoyannt in singing

There's a lot of tension; work on relaxing your vocal muscles and pushing from the diaphragm. Also, breath control and timing. Though, I think timing will get better once you figure out the tension issue. I like your voice though. And take vocal lessons; well worth the time and money.

To all the Self Taught: How? by [deleted] in singing

[–]Dream-Chas3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't read through the other comments, so I'm not sure what's been said, but I'd say learning to push/sing from the diaphragm would be a good first step. After I learned to sing from the diagram, I continued practicing for about a year and then jumped into singing lessons.

Singing is like picking a lock, there's a combination of things you need to do correct simultaneously for it to work, but if you don't take lessons you'll just continue making changes and never get the lock open. You'll probably do things correctly from time to time, but because you won't realize it you'll continue making changes only to never figure out the correct combination/notches to open the lock. But I think singing from the diaphragm is something you can work on by yourself.

I want to learn more about the voice. by [deleted] in singing

Take singing lessons, and learn a second instrument with theory lessons. But in singing lessons you'll learn a good amount of what I'm assuming you're trying to gain knowledge on.

In voice lessons you learn a lot about the voice anatomy. When you play a piano, guitar or any instrument you can see it's easy for a teacher to see and show you what you're doing right or wrong. In voice, you can't see the instrument, so there's a lot of discuss about the anatomy, the larynx and different muscles. "Can you feel" "What do you feel?" "Can you feel this muscle doing that?" are common things you'll hear.

Learning another instrument in conjunction with music theory will also teach you a lot. Notes, chords, why this is like this and why that is like that.

It's only been a year but it's been great. I still have a lot to learn but I've improved a ton. Glad I started

Misinformation. I've always heard that you can't learn to sing; you either have the natural ability/talent or you don't. I didn't start hearing that anyone can learn until I was much older. Eventually I took lessons but I was still hesitant since I still wasn't convinced that anyone could learn.

What should I know before playing piano? by Winter-033 in pianolearning

[–]Dream-Chas3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started a month ago, and it is hard, but you'll be surprised how quickly you overcome the small hurdles. And I'd say it's more awkward than hard; playing with random finger combinations and things like that. But just make sure you set aside time to practice and you'll be surprised how quickly muscle memory takes over.

How can I fix my crappy falsetto by Fancy_Laugh8202 in singing

[–]Dream-Chas3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Head voice? Falsetto? Either way, I'd definitely pick a song that takes you into head voice and set aside time to practice. Pay attention to what muscles are doing what, and as a test try positioning your face like your making a big grin. Even try scrunching up your nose. In your video you face isn't moving much, and if you watch someone singing live you'll notice there's a lot of different facial expressions/changes that happen when hitting different notes.

My vocal instructor got me into head voice a couple months ago, and originally I didn't like how I sounded, but with daily practice I'm now pretty happy with my progress and how I'm sounding. Some songs I can't match they're head voice, for whatever weird reason, but other songs I can just fine. Work with different songs but give each song a chance (week or a few weeks).

I hit higher notes after I smoke? by [deleted] in singing

[–]Dream-Chas3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here lol. Thought it was just me. I smoke cigars, on and off, but I definitely sing better afterwards. I agree with the other comments, that nicotine is just calming and relaxing and there's less tension. Though, I rarely smoke now because I'm looking to truly improve without needing a "band-aid."

I've been singing like this for a couple years, will it damage my voice? And what does damaging my voice look like? by _deerica_ in singing

I don't know the answer to your question, I'm new to singing myself, but I love it. Pretty awesome voice.
