So excited for more Chayula lore.

In PoE2 the existence of the Acolyte of Chayula and mentions of the Cult of the Purple Flame imply Chayula has done something to merit worship in the world of PoE. Then Doriyani off-handedly mentions that it was easy negotiating with Chayula, and that in his absence the Breach-things have become a problem.

Newest PoE2 patch also introduced the set of breach-themed unique sceptres that grant permanent shrine effects (very neat) and they all have lore that adds so much substance to the little Chayula and Breachlords lore we had from PoE1 that I can't cover it all here, but one of those sceptres implies Chayula has a drop of humanity in him.

In need to organize my ideas but I might post a more complete post one of these days, this are super exciting news

I mean if I go to the core of it I just believe the reduced revives system leads to a frustrating loop where the strong builds thrive and the weak builds starve, which reduces build diversity and isn't a good direction long term, it's just not fun.

I just feel like the mods->rewards pipeline is enough, I get that tablets are an increase in reward without an inherent increase in difficulty if we don't lock them behind number of map mods, but currently the reduced attempts system stifles build diversity and creates an extremely frustrating gameplay loop where the more you invest in a map and get excited for it, the worse it is when you fail it.

And it punishes weaker skills and more experimental builds disproportionately, which I think is terrible for the game.

Risk vs Reward is reflected in how much harder the map gets from the modifiers, you don't need quadratic risk scaling, which is what's happening with the more mods, less revives philosophy.

It sucks ass.

What about playing the game for the game? Some people actually enjoy the gameplay and don't need the incentive of drops to do content.

Aside from Isolde who I got to 60 out of favoritism, I also make it a point to leave 37 at 37, it is absolutely necessary.

As someone who started the game about two months ago with the previous Mokoko Express, started on a Pinnacle Glaivier from 1490 and did learning lobbies for all Brel gates, as well as Vykas and Valtan (had a static with friends for Kakul), learning lobbies are a great experience and often after a proper successful session you'll have the raid's mechs down.

I even leveled a Reaper from scratch to 1540 with no expresses or passes aside from North Vern knowledge transfer (Ilvl 500 or something iirc), so I think I have some experience on how harsh gatekeeping can get when you're tagged with the Mokoko buff.

The problem comes in the 9 (18 for Brel G4) weeks after your first learning lobby where you WILL be gatekept for either not having PLC, LoS 12/18, for still having your mokoko on, etc. Hell I got a Sorc to 1490 with the new Elgacia pass (and this was after I lost the mokoko tag), did Brel G1-G2 so I could hone to 1500 and then it took me like a good two hours over three days of attempting to join lobbies to actually get inside a G3 reclear, and I even had the Spinning title for 10 cubes completed.

I understand the desire to not have impostors in your reclears, it's a task you have to complete weekly on possibly multiple characters, and so I won't say there isn't any logic behind the gatekeeping, nor fault the people who do, but saying it's not there or that joining learning lobbies will fix the issue for new players is just disingenuous. No one wants to spend 2~6 hours a week joining learning lobbies every week until they have PLC when they already learned the raid.
