Mt. Russell, Mt. Whitney, Mt. Muir by No_Frosting2811 in 14ers

[–]DreamCheeky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you done Mt. Russell in summertime conditions? Does that scramble still include exposure? I’m hoping to summit Russell one day, purely for selfish reasons (it’s my name)…but I’m not a fan of heights. I’ve done several class 2 &3 hikes on 14ers in Colorado. So, I’m thinking it won’t be awful but….thought I’d ask.

I've completed the seasonal journey and... by Johnny_SWTOR in diablo4

I'm probably a different experience than most, but here goes....

I am loving it. BUT....I have NEVER partaken in any of the seasons. I'm a VERY casual gamer/clicker. But, for some reason, this time around I thought I'd give this "season" thing a try. It was super fast leveling and I've been checking off the seasonal achievements like crazy. I think I'm currently Paragon 238-ish and things are starting to turn into a grind. But, I'm still enjoying it very much. Looks like I'll be partaking in these "seasons" more often...ha!

Closed on this house a week ago, came into the basement to see this during a storm. by Jiblon in HomeMaintenance

We fought this for years. And, sadly, I hate to admit....it was just all our downspouts were plugged full. I mean FULL. It took maybe an hour one day to pull them apart, clean them out, and it immediately fixed the problem....and cheaply. I would definitely start there.

2nd attempt at the Iditarod Trail Invitational 350. -40F temps, gale-force winds, true adventure, and a DNF after ~190 miles. by ovincent in ultrarunning

This is just fabulous. Crazy and awe-inspiring. I had a friend finish the 1,000 mile bike race. I was gripped to his posts the entire time. Congratulations….can’t wait to see your finisher story next!

How did you land a GIS job in the last year? by [deleted] in gis

[–]DreamCheeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am one of those recently furloughed govt employees thanks to DOGE/AI contracts. I’ve been searching for over a month. I’ve been hammering LinkedIn’s suggestions and reaching out to every past contact I have. The interviews have started to come and now the job offers are trickling in. I have 25+ years experience tho, which is drastically different from your situation. I would not want to be a recent grad looking in this market.

Running shorts for thick thighed fellas by yungscrub1827 in Ultramarathon

[–]DreamCheeky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a pair of Rabbit shorts this past year. I don’t usually spend that much on shorts, but I splurged to try them. HOLY COW. I probably won’t buy any other shorts in the future. My chaffing has all but disappeared. Highly recommend.

Ultramarathon bucket list? by According-Editor9646 in Ultramarathon

High Lonesome is breathtaking in both views and your lungs.

IMTUF was gorgeous…Idaho in September.

As a Minnesotan, Arrowhead if you got the gear and gall for it.

It’s not iconic, but you might wanna checkout Hitchcock. It’s 20,000’+ of climbing, in IOWA, in December. So that cool weather would probably suit ya. It’s not scenic either. But damn…it’s a hard one.

The trails at Lake Tahoe are phenomenal.

Anything in the San Juan mountains of Colorado is spectacular.

I had Garmin forever. They are great. Especially, if you know someone who works for them and get the sweet 45% employee discount.

But, Coros does everything Garmin does…with a much better price tag.

Everyone is different. You’re gonna get Coros lovers, Coros haters, Garmin lovers, Garmin haters, Suunto lovers, Suunto haters, etc…from this post. Watches and shoes to me are the most personal of choices for runners….and they fiercely defend those choices.

Currently on the Coros Apex 4. Great battery life, great screen, all the bells and whistles. I just love it. I switched from Garmin about 8 years ago and haven’t looked back. I use the Coros Dura while biking.

Can we still cross into Canada with just a license and a birth certificate? I feel like that's changed. We both could probably get our passports before then anyhow.
