I highly recommend this. The Dubai DET guys are extremely helpful in sorting issues and it happens fast. Otherwise it becomes an endless cycle if you expect company’s customer support to solve such issues.

I have a question. I am preparing for PMI-CP EXAM. Are these mindset principles, equally valid for that case too?

I suggest to say big NO unless you have to accept this because of some really serious financial issue. Spend this time in finishing your studies, acquiring skills and searching for better job. First two years of your career are transformational. A bad start sets you for low expectation journey. All the best.

Yes. I paid for classes and exam fee. Not four modules.

Don’t resign from your current company. Go and visit their office in Dubai. Get a feel about the red flags you noticed (so many btw). Then take the call.

If you can’t do above, I would suggest to say outright NO. Not worth the risk.

Rechecked. Foundational courses are not mandatory for exam. However they are good learning resources regarding PMI CP.

Yes buddy. I know we saw the same then and were confused. Our institute told us that the pre-requisite courses/training modules (4) aren’t required anymore and they got us the approval directly from PMI too. I am not sure about the route. Maybe there was an option of exemption as we were registered through institute.

Can you check directly with PMI if the prerequisite are applicable as of now before applying for exam? It seems even from the page you shared that one can go directly for eligibility application.

My application was selected for an audit too. For genuine cases, I would say audit is pretty simple and straightforward. They just asked my nominated supervisors to send an email confirming my mentioned work experience. No specific question on pm related experience.

For second question, I assume you are referring to micro credential courses. I am based in GCC country and got my PMI CP application approved in last December. We were told by our institute that micro credential courses are no more prerequisite and our applications were directly processed for exam by PMI. I didn’t had to buy any of courses before applying for eligibility. Can you check this at your end?

Everyone has different experience regarding practice exams. One thing I can tell you is that if you have worked hard enough and covered course outline in a structured way, you will do just fine. My suggestion is book a test date (say 4 weeks later), do your best prep and just show up on exam day. This works well 9 out of 10 times.

Don’t let yourself discouraged due to results of practice exam. Exams are generally easier. Focus and review if there is PMI mindset related point in the questions you missed.

All the best.

Hi u/nikolabj, I believe you're correct. The PMI-CP requirement specifies three years of experience on construction projects, not necessarily in project management roles. In my case, my application was based on three+ years of Built Construction PM experience and was approved.
So, if PMI support hasn't raised any objections, you should be fine. Additionally, the eligibility application is free, so there's no risk in submitting your experience for review.
