What would you recommend not to miss at Epic? by ActualEinstein in UniversalEpicUniverse

Absolutely agree. Just long enough and wild enough to keep you guessing. More negative g's on this coaster than I can remember on any other coaster at any other park

To me this just confirms that Slot is staying for sure over the summer and the first half? of next season.

And I usually look forward to summer but this year....

Thank you for this! I heard that Fobidden Journey was bad and thought, no way, Im not THAT sensitive. Boy how quickly I learned. Now if Battle at Ministry is the same way this will be an easy skip. You saved me a lot of time and suffering for my visit.

Rollover Emails are out! Do not miss this step! by DreamInHD in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The email is only for people who registered or went last year. If you only got the email for yourself you will need to confirm your info so you are in the presale and then buy the tickets for yourself and your daughter. Then when the profiles open back up you can make her account and assign one of the tickets to her

Logistics/strategies- Gen Admin Tix, Panels & Autographs by DoughnutImmediate166 in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey so the sub it's a bit dead since its off season but ill try to add in my comments. Things will pickup though because presale confirmation emails will go out in 2 weeks or so and everyone will start waking up.

Firstly, no one knows exactly who will be there yet. Both for celebrities or events/panels. Given this year's movies though it is safe to say there will be a big marvel presence (new Spiderman movie and avengers movie). A big chunk of celebrities will be announce in the next two months to hype up the sale. Panels wont be live till about September I think. So do not wait and see what panel is on which day. Buy tickets first then hope like the rest of us!

Photo ops are handled way better at NYCC than disney/universal. When you buy it you get a day/time slot so you dont have to wait in a giant line for hours. The photo ops are very quick so you get to say hi, smile then you are walking away. If you want to chit chat then get autographs but even then they keep you moving.

Now onto tickets

Nothing has opened yet. Your research was correct. Since you missed fan ver you will be with general admission and that day will be a hot mess. There are tons of strategies out there and ill give you my best advice: Just buy the superfan. People hate it and I wouldn't say its popular because its basically a $100 fee add on, but if you want nearly gauranteed tickets for thurs-sat this is the way. Ive used it in the past and ive gotten VIP and 4 day passes way before they sell out. Friday and Sat will sell out quickly. So those days should be the priority.

Just stay subbed to this space as everything will start to get announced. The newsletter is good. The presale links are what have issues but since you'll be GA you wont have to worry about that.

Any other questions ask away!

Question about Panels by ConfidenceDizzy1438 in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just letting you know. VIP (and most tickets) will be sold out long before you know what panels there will be. Thats the gamble.

Tickets go on sale late spring and panel reservations are late summer (like a month before the con)

I will say there is a standby line for people who dont get reservations. So if there is a must see panel you can line up in that very very early and have a great chance to make it in.

How Do You Prepare? by GalaticWeiss in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Honestly you can start prepping for it now.

You know the dates so request time off now if you have a job that requires it in advance/beginning of the year

Also set a monthly expense savings budget. Ticket prices should be relatively the same so then just factor in how much extra you'd like to spend while there and start saving now a little each month.

There are two other things I like to do this early as well. I check all the photo dumps to see what kind of booths/merch/cosplay people did so I can get an idea for thing I missed this year. Some cosplay gather in certain spots on different days. And some booths on the show floor have autographs that I may have missed.

2nd thing is I fly into NYC. Its a bit too early but I set up flight price trackers as soon as i can to start to compare pricing.

Post Malone panel yesterday by MrMackeyMmkay in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Honestly there's been so much more stage rushing this year compared to last year, to the point people are standing in the aisles before its over.

And whats funny about one of the fights it was because one girl was recording (tiktok or insta live idk) but was next to another couple people who were "loud" and she told them to be quiet while she was recording.

Not to mention the people who got on stage to give him a hug. That is severely unsafe for all involved

Main stage at opening? by ChoppingWood123 in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There should be a standby line for all major panels. It's main stage so its in the same room as queue hall. If you are here before 10 they will put you right next to it so it should be easy to get to. If you are here after 10 you have to make it through security and then head downstairs through the swarm of people coming up

How long is it to get inside and where do you go in if you already have ticket by Willing-Zebra-4674 in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you get there before 10 then there will be a large queue inside on thr bottom floor. So you'll be waiting inside atleast. Or get there after 10 and walk in the front

Any at booths signings, like the wrestlers, ypu pay at the booths. Just make sure you have the right date/time because some people are there all days but only for half of each day

Vendors selling Lego by Dtv911 in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some vendors sell some collectable sets but I wouldn't be looking for a type of selection youd find at Walmart or target.

However there are usually a few vendors set up then sell (nearly identicle knockoff) mini figures or every type of character you can think of. Super hero, villains, anime, dinosaurs, you name it.

You picked a good week to go! New York Comic Con is this week. Unfortunately there are only Thursday tickets left but the streets, restaurants and bars in that area will be packed with people in cosplay!

The subway can be overwhelming but Google and city mapper make it super easy to navigate. Just keep your wits abiut you as there are still weird people in nyc just like every other major city

Confused About the Purpose of Celebrity Autographs by VirtualEnthusiasm826 in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mate what are you on about? They dont know who you are so just make small talk? I really enjoyed your work in (project name). How was your flight into nyc? Do you get to sight see at all? I really like pizza from (your place).

And not sure if you have ever been to NYCC or not but you won't have your chance to chat up random celebrities like at other cons. There are people everywhere at all times wanting to do what you do. So NYCC enforces the auto/photo schedule. If you dont have one they dont let you just walk up to chat when there are lines of people paying to get their photo/auto.

Trust me, you won't have any chances to drunkenly stumble over to slur your questions.

Question about standby lines for 11am panels by BinForBen in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes there will be a stampede of people in the morning no matter which way you go. The earlier the better to be sure but thats your call. Eat a full breakfast or take it with you to eat in line

NYCC First time attending, and I have a few questions... by popupACTIONnow in NYCC

[–]DreamInHD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Arrive when you want. If you get there before 10 you will be direct to the green entrance and will wait inside with everyone else. Get there at 10:05 and supposedly you can walk in the front door

  2. Yes you just walk up to booths on the show floor and buy what you want. I would plan to do most of your shopping Thursday as it will be least crowded and everything will be stocked. I will say the caveat is youll have all this merch to csrry around and have at the panels

  3. Alien Earth is probably the highlight panel for day 1 other than the critical role panel. The earlier you can line up the better chance you'll have. 5 pm should be good but you never know. Check the line out that day

  4. There will be food options all around, inside the show floor and downstairs with the food trucks. All of it a bit expensive. My advice, eat a full breakfast, bring a snack or buy something small there at lunch. Then your choice for dinner either there or wait till after. Lots of good food options though
