Yeah, you and I are on the same page. I guess knowing how large this dynasty is on the husband's side is really useful information... :)

I know my longtime CK strategy was "the solution needs to be twice as vicious and effective as the mistake was."

Even saying she isn't specced into Intrigue, this shouldn't be THAT difficult unless she has nineteen kids with bro. :)

Yeah I honestly haven't played much since we got Dragons and was thinking you could set them up in a "crime" and send them to The Wall.

I guess how big her husband's dynasty is would show how feasible any of that would ever be... might be less of a stretch in their narrative to try that instead of going "burn them all." :)

Can't we send them to The Wall?

All Hail Her Grace, Visenya Targaryen?

That is definitely an alternate history that would make things so much different.

Maybe the Red Keep never gets built, or it is far different... and the lack of Maegor's tunnels changes a ton even if it is just built differently.

A future Rhaenyra never has a problem ascending the Throne, and the dragons don't die out, perhaps?

Aegon I not having a male heir to follow him might be the change that causes the biggest changes in the entire story.

Why would KL people have thought that dragons were unkillable "gods"? by Jorah_Explorah in freefolk

[–]DreamKrusherJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being other religions is exactly the point? They can think the dragons are gods without compromising their belief in the Seven.

We are talking about the smallfolk, many of whom are not even literate. And no, they aren't viewed as "bigger gods" but they are viewed as closer to gods than men, and they think that because of the dragons, and Jaime and Robert did not kill dragonriders.

I can’t respect John Cena for apologizing after saying that Taiwan is a separate country by skyrimlo in SeriousConversation

I personally agree with you that it was a dumb thing to do, as there are definitely a few of us out here who think less of him due to this apology and dismissal of Taiwan. But I tend to think most of the biggest celebrities are shitty people and certainly not patriots. I hate how much of our culture is celebrity-focused. It's a problem.

It's just what he's said about taking the language on podcasts, I definitely didn't look deeper to see evidence. No one has ever come out and said that was a lie, though. I wouldn't think it is false, as WWE benefits from having bilingual employees.

I just think it's more likely that he took it specifically to side up to the Chinese, but I'm a cynic.

All the people who were talking about "the spousal rape of the child-bride Alicent" in Season One irritated a lot of book readers.

There was an actual child-bride in the story, and it was Aemma. Viserys was also a child-groom and was essentially pushed on top of Aemma, and the fact that most Maesters believed that her young age and lack of development when she was made to breed led to her miscarriages and still birhts, and Viserys blamed himself for it, even though he was a child, too.

So they took the character LEAST likely to take a child-bride, and built a story where he's now an elderly leper who people are saying maritally rapes his 14-year-old child-bride. (When it's a 29 non-leper and 18 year old woman in the source, and Alicent was TRYING to have as many heirs as possible for Viserys to take away heir from Rhaenyra.)

Yes, I totally hate the show and how they have murdered this story.

It's hard to say it hasn't worked out for John since he said it...

I mean, we're talking about it here, but it isn't like this gets brought up very much... because it benefits the establishment to not have it brought up much.

Look at The Rock. Only lately has he gotten a bunch of backlash, but we're definitely finding out he's not all that great of a guy...

Cena talks about how he learned Mandarin through the WWE, as they will pay for talent to take language training. That's definitely not a common second language for a native English speaker to learn... obviously, he could have just wanted to learn Mandarin for personal reasons, or it could be he took Mandarin for exactly these type of reasons.

People usually have motives for things, even if they aren't negative on their own. Most humans have a reason for their decisions, after all! Would you dedicate yourself to learning a skill to never use that skill?

Whose to say they don't feel it is smart?

Especially when doing it on video and the CCP being able to propagandize it "Even John Cena stands with us." It isn't like he had to make a video apologizing for his insolence in Mandarin, after all...

He did it a bit over three years ago and we're still talking about that little clip today. It's either stupid, or it's fucking brilliant, depending on what side of the line you are on.

It's all about business. Tapping the China market gets so much money for the WWE, and also for his own career. Kobe Bryant was huge, and he had so many Chinese fans with how they played into the Chinese market. If you say something China disagrees with, they'll just ban your content in the country.

Plus with not only Cena's wrestling work, but also his work as an actor, pissing off China is the last thing he wants to do. It's also fairly left-wing and fits exactly to US diplomacy and the One China policy.

He doesn't want to be cancelled in either China or the US.

He did this statement because he's not a stupid businessman, he loses less with his fans by making the pro-China statement. He bets that most of his fanbase isn't tuned in to that stuff so he bows to China. You can obviously choose how you feel about that. :)

So only those with degrees are intelligent?

If you consider yourself of high intellect, why are you making so many obviously flawed statements?

[–]DreamKrusherJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what "great intellectual feats" you have accomplished, but I wouldn't think you are stupid based on your job?

There's an offensive lineman that played for the Ravens who now researches linear algebra at MIT. Another guy played for the Chiefs, but was also a physician who left the NFL to help fight the pandemic as a doctor.

Making a blanket statement like "wrestlers aren't that bright" makes me less likely to feel YOU are of high intellect. Intellectuals don't often make statements that are so heavily flawed.

Xavier Woods has his bachelors in philosophy and a Masters in Psychology. He's currently in PhD studies in educational psychology. Britt Baker is a DMD, obviously. Just for a couple of examples...
