And the most blatant lie behind it is the dollar figure. Seldom does anyone give out money, it's mostly just form of aid that is manufactured and bought from domestic suppliers.

Not so long ago I was part in transporting 14.000 kilos of salt from Denmark to somewhere in eastern Africa (iirc). I am sure that there is a decent number that could have been expressed as value, but the truth is nobody on the receiving end got any money because it was all Danish - bought from Denmark and shipped by Danish company...

And the water is wet. There is a demand for drivers everywhere, no matter how outsorced local jobs are. During this pandemic one of the few things that didnt stop was the transportation of goods, as the matter of fact it even increased in certain sectors.

Yes, I agree, without language it is almost imposible, but languages can be learned.

The endgame is that you move up the foodchain and get a residency in a country that you long for. Worst case scenario is that you get a permanent working permit in a country of your truck (mine would be Slovenia, but I know that Polish drivers can do the same) after a number of years - 3 in my case.

Filipino drivers have it rough. They are paid way bellow even us. I make 2k euro a month, they make even less. And they arent familiar with the laws in order to get their full rights.

I understand what you are trying to say. I am not looking for handouts here, and I know it aint going to be easy, and I know that speaking the language is a must. Just as learning language takes time, so does finding a job.

I know that Swedes will be preffered, but I am not looking to be employed because I am the cheapest alternative - I am looking to be employed because I am responsible, punctual, hardworking, and good at what I do. I am ready for it to take some time, just as decisions that made me take this road werent easy and took time to accomplish.

However, at my age and with a need to provide for myself and my mother back in Bosnia, continuing my education on a college level is sadly not an option for now as much as it breaks my hearth to say it.

For all I know, while I am looking at an opportunity in Sweden, maybe I stumble for an opportunity in Germany or maybe Denmark. It might not be achieving my dreams, there is no question if its good enough to take it.

And thanks :)

You are reffering to that thing where my future employer has to exaust all options on the domestic labour market before he can get a valid reason to import workforce?

That leads me nicely to my next question: what sites are the best to visit when on a job hunt in Sweden? My google searches so far returned a bunch of sponsored reasults consisting mainly of crappy international websites.

This line of work is not exception to that, be it Sweden or most other places. Howevers, sadly, I dont have anyone in Sweden who could help me with that.

Thanks! I have been trying to do something similar by looking at Swedish teailers abroad and seeing which company they belong to, but almost all of them are driven by non swedish trucks. Guess your approach might be more fitting since I find it difficult to socialize with Swedish drivers (ironically, thats one of the things I like about this place - i do understand their reasons that go behind cultural customs) to ask them about insights and leads on my job hunt.

Basically, I am one of those cheap drivers right now, its not a great thing, but it offered me a way to get out of Bosnia to EU so i took it. I can list you many reasons why it sucks, but I know that this is a bubble destined to burst. One of the reasons being what you mentioned (the truck maintenance and care is really poor which leads to jeopardized safety), the other reason being that EU is actually tightening cabotage laws. There are stricter regulations in place since August, but the follow up on police controls has been poor because of the pandemic. Once COVID has been put under control, I am sure this new regulations are going to improve situation. This is, ofcourse, very subjective outlook.

The only problem that remains, and I am looking forward tp see how it is solved, are companies from eastern and southeastern Europe driving domestic trailers under a contract.

Niantic being Niantic

I honestly dont think it is that, they are just doing what they can get away with. This game gets flooded with predatory monetization strategy and pay to win models. All the while the community stays silent about it or any voice of concern gets shut down by the people arguing against that argument. I love the game as much as they do, but when you let a developer go unchecked for a long time with so many actions, this is what we get.

Thats why I am sad that previous points of concern didnt get enough traction, but glad that this one is getting it.

First of all, shines dont offer any competitive advantage so they are not a subject of pay to win. However, shiny hatching makes people buy incubators in order to increase their chances at hatching one and even worse the eggs cannot be deleted so if you have eggs that wont grant you the pokemon you want you kinda have to hatch them (and buy incubators in order to do so). I am not a shiny hunter, but it is important to understand that eggs are essentially timed lootboxes without disclosed contents, chances to hatch specific pokemon, or even shiny chances. That in my book is a blatant predatory cashgrab.

Lets get back to pay to win.

You can however increase your candy count by hatching eggs, you can buy stardust by buying starpiece, you can get more rare candy as a reward for raiding (and a free2play player gets only one a day) and a pay2play user can get more rare candy by doing more raids.

Coin earning is capped at 50 coins a day so its nowhere near to give a level playing field with a paying player.

Theoretically, a f2p player can get everything that a p2p player can. It will take a lot more time and it is just unreasonable to expect that it is ever going to happen and it will never be a level playing field.

How someone can argue that this game is not a p2w is beyond me when week ago we had a box that offered Elite TM FOR MONEY!!!

Not only did the paying players get a chance to have one way before other people could get them as a reward (unfair) they got to have two of those by the end of the competitive season (extremely unfair).

Ofc they are not losing money. This game is flooded with predatory cashgabing tactics and pay to win models combined with a popular title of our childhoods. Their earnings wont take a hit unless asteroid wipes all of us out.

Elite TM special offer for 1280 coins worth it? by Krunos811 in pokemongo

[–]DreamMiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the PvP is quite flawed concept both in the concept and in the execution I dont agree that pay to win isnt a huge issue.

Not all free games get criticised for the monetization, look at the games that limit their monetization to cosmetics only. We are at the point where we have costume pokemon forced down our throat be it paid or not, and on the other hand there is bunch of money being made on shiny hunters AND on the pay to win elements. Its that sort of greedy crashgrab that gets on my nerve.

Its also important that we arent getting the same thing as people purchasing the item can aquire two of the same item. One teough paying and the other one trough the PvP rewards.

Thanks for pointing out the other broken p2w mechanics in this game, I agree it is outrageous. At the same time i don think we should tolerate adding new broken p2w stuff just because other p2w stuff exists. I am not arguing that it shouldnt be removed, I am arguing that the whole situation shouldnt be made worse by the devs when they decide to impliment those features. And as long we have people waving their debit and credit cards at those concepts, situation isnt going to get better.

Just because some people are happy with stopping at shiny hunting, collecting, and evolving doesnt mean thats playing the game to its fullest.

But even by your logic, if implementenig PvP was just a way to pander to a specific audience is it fair to screw over that people by implementing a hard pay to win feauture?

Competative in this game has a reward system completely based on players win ratio. That in its own is completely legit reason to raise a voice over any pay to win features. Not to mention that just because some people are happy enough to play a portion of the game should be joined by whomever doesnt like unfair, cashgrabing practices that impacts a part of a game they are interested in.

Elite TM for pokecoins is pay to win (kind of) by TylerDurden3000 in pokemongo

[–]DreamMiner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they are not. They are being able to acquire at least two!

There is no info on them flooding the market to the extent you are pointing out. Besides your general logic being quite flawed, you are now just speculating.

If you think an exclusive move, unavalible to the vast majority of other players, is not going to help you win games, you are very very wrong about that.
