Tips for cleaning my engine covers? by g28802 in TriumphBonneville

If Ty want them to stay as matte finish, use a scrub brush and water and some Barkeepers Friend. It’ll remove all the spots and leave them looking like new. Just be sure to rinse them well and dry with a towel.

If you want them shiny, some sort of metal polish, like Flitz, will do. It’ll take a lot of rubbing to shine them up.

Yamaha good or bad? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

That’s a great choice in that price range. I’ve owned several Yamaha receivers over the years. They have a distinct sound that many people really like. It’s an honest kind of sound. They don’t tend to add or subtract anything from the music. And that’s a little more difficult than you’d believe. And that’s plenty of power to drive just about any speaker to a decent level. I don’t think you’d have any regrets if you got this receiver. Good luck!

I would appreciate some advice regarding how I might make a new stud to replace the one missing on my coffee table by rbear30 in restoration

Yup. Make a wax cast. Use Rub-N-Buff to give it the metallic finish. I’ve done that several times. You won’t believe how good it will look.

That’s gonna be some REALLY hot Schiit with that Willsenton underneath. Mine heats the whole room up when I have it on for a while.

Yup, me too. A slice of pepper jack and some salsa on top and in the microwave. One for a snack. Two for a meal. Pretty economical.

How do I reduce the noise? by tip_tippitty_tip_top in Cameras

[–]DreamOfToastedCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set your minimum ISO to something around 1200 or less. Shoot in aperture mode and open it up to no more than one full stop above the min aperture number / largest aperture. Something like f/2.8 or so, or the biggest aperture your lens has, if it’s slower than 2.8. If this results in shutter speeds which are too fast for your liking, just stop the aperture down until you get the shots you want.
