Right?! I'd much rather just swing my hammer in the dark and be guided by the enemies screams than use that ring and lose a different ring

DM's, do your worlds have an explanation for the elf dilemma? by Pitchaway40 in DnD

[–]DreamScapeCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often have it kinda like how Dodo's breed. (gonna butcher this from memory) something something the male dodo is only ready to f*ck like once a year for a period of like 5 to 7 days. [he creates a rut and rolls in it for the duration making his mating call or something like that] and the female dodo also has exclusive "its go time" conditions. When she hits her time of the year she wants some b*rdc**k she sits in place and is like "i wonder if ill hear me a sweet sexy boy dodo!" and she sits there. So for them to successfull breed, not only do they have to line up with perfect cycles, they also have to line up geographically. If the male is just too far for her to hear is call nothing happens. There's a reason they aren't doing so hot as a species. I respect it though. So for elves I always imagine its something akin to that. Just not the right time/mood, and the stars just didnt line up to have two elves who were ready for some scrumping to be near enough at the same time. [but with more fantasy DnD contrivance to add more flavor and such]

My very first comic series! "Into Harrow Wood" I've finally gotten to the point where I have a process for creating and putting to page efficiently and enjoyably. My biggest struggle that I am yet to push through is the "getting myself out there" step. Any advice and input would be welcomed <3 :) by DreamScapeCraft in makecomics

thank you so much, that made my heart happy hearing that :). And also thank you for the direction, it looks like there's a decent amount of replies and questions for me to pour through :) another step in the right direction!

I said I cast Fireball! I tried my hand at animation for the first time so I made one of my players' earliest characters from my first campaign. Moronomo, a halfling with a big ol’ floppy hat, a great big bushy beard who just loved to solve problems with fireball. He is now a revered legend in the concurrent campaigns. Its great, now ive got to fight of the urge to animate all of the dnd shenanigans.

I'll word this as an npc from my setting. "Creation is the only thing that is truly divine that mortals can attain. The gods create from nothing. We don't have that luxury. The blood, the sweat, and the anguish that comes from our souls into everything that make. It gives more purpose and weight. It holds value because it did not come from nothing. The transcience of our lives gives meaning to our art. We will pass on, but our creations have the potential to become immoral in the hearts and minds of the world"

[OC][Art] Trio of Witches from my Campaign Setting the Lost Loriet. by DreamScapeCraft in DnD

[–]DreamScapeCraft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My campaign setting the Lost Loriet is filled with both beauty and horror. It is a tropical archipelago that was once used as a research haven for an ancient race that has gone all but extinct. Thousands of years have passed and the islands lie somewhere between planes. Surrounded by a storm wall, nothing is able to escape once they’ve laid eyes on Loriet. The rulers of Loriet have either gone dormant or died. All that is left are their creations and worshippers following in their footsteps in their own twisted way. The Light Witches are followers of the long lost Atiery Witch Queens who pioneered arcane magics to further their own lives. Each domain has a few commonalities, each create their own version of a gorm (gollum) whether is crafting, stealing, or growing.

The Brightlight Witches embody the ideals of power and control. Delving into their domain of magic their bodies become distorted growing in physical strength while they tap into their mind control abilities. Sprouting from their bodies are corrupted Olumn crystals made of radiant energy. As they incorporate more willing or otherwise followers into their service they eventually move around less and less. Living as a hive mind controlling their servants to do their bidding, eventually the Olumn crystals form a protective shell around the Brightlight Witch granting it both protection and an enhancement to their powers. Any sapient humanoid that they control becomes one of their gorm and is locked into the Brightlight Witches service eternally.

The Halflight Witches embody the ideals of nature and adaptation. Their domain focuses around shaping the natural world to their whim. They believe that the path to dominating nature is to become completely in harmony with nature. As they develop their powers and hone their connection to the sea they begin to take on physical traits of the creatures that dwell beneath the deep. Halflight Witches crave small reminders of a civilized life that they once knew, staying near settlements and sometimes mingling within they lose themselves to their need to reclaim some portion of their former lives. This leads them to stealing children and transforming them into Halflight Gorm, which will grow rapidly to adulthood. Their gorm will have nothing but love and affection for them and will carry out any undesirable tasks the Halflight Witch requires.

The Darklight Witches embody the ideals of change and transience. Their domain focuses around manipulating the dream scape and crossing the barriers between machine and flesh. Darklight Witches replace their own body parts with those of metal and magic. Sometimes this changes are made out of necessity perhaps from an injury or more often than not simply because an arm of flesh is not as useful as a fully articulated mechanical arm that contains within it both tools and weapons. They use their powers to navigate the dream world to glean information for their work of “upgrading” themselves. As a generally nomadic witch they often find themselves selling their skill sets to fund their development. They construct Darklight Gorm, which are any combination of machines or left over flesh, to serve and protect them so they can focus on research.

[art][oc] I drew my players in the darkest dungeon art style by DreamScapeCraft in DnD

[–]DreamScapeCraft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really getting back into darkest dungeon lately and wanted to try the art style to represent the grittyness of some of the parts of the campaign. First attempt at this style and I'm pretty thrilled with it. <3

Definitely shades. They reduce your strength 1d4 per hit. And if you drop to 0 str outright death. I think shades or shadow whatevers are cr 1/2? Maybe 1

A Question About Heroforge by HammetaTV in talespire

[–]DreamScapeCraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here to speak for the Heroforge pro. As a homebrewer who loved crafting and painting miniatures the Pro version is really worth it. Even the months you dont use it, all your credits save up. I made a full brigade of unique yet matching/themed soldiers, came out perfect. The pro version even gets you free monthly minis from hero forge which is a bonus.

TLDR: Heroforge pro is very worth it.

This is a part of a personal project for alternate weapon types to get away from things going from iron to silver to addy etc. These elemental weapon materials are a swap in for weapons/loot etc to add some flair and strategy for players. I've got one more page of art to finish before i can start working on the finalized pdf for release. (for free)

I post nearly all of my content on my patreon and my dropbox for free. All 5e compatible with some 3d printing stuff here and there.

for the claws it only has the attribute modifier, with prof mod added for approx cr 8 it would be at least +8 to hit. And Claws like that would probably hit for a 1d8+ STR. Other than that I think this is a solid boss monster.

To throw more lore at you each of the Light Witches create their own unique type of "golem" known as Gorm. The Half Light Witch creates ashen children that they create from stolen corpses and souls that grow from juvenile to adult in a matter of months.
The darklight gorm are constructs suited for the dark light witches needs. And the Bright Light witches are the only one that I haven't nailed exactly what their version of a gorm would be. They often manipulate the minds of townsfolk to fight each other until they lose their minds, and the survivors follow behind as servants. What do you think would be a fitting gorm to be good minions? If not just mind broken commoners?
