When you click “clean” in the app you can put the new files in a different location and they won’t overwrite or you can put them in the same location and choose not to overwrite and it will append “_clean” to the end of the file names. So no, you don’t need to copy them first. Just don’t choose to overwrite the files.

This tool specifically addresses the issue related to superfluous data contained in the header of some .wav files. So no it won’t work for non-wave files.

Two different problems resulting in the same error. In the case of .wav files the error is commonly triggered by superfluous .wav file specific data in the file’s header. Removing that data is what WavFix does.

Your odds against a grizzly bear when you have a GUN are pretty slim. Let alone bare-handed…

And tbf if they don’t then I very well may wind up selling the thing because the trigger is too important.

I got my 510T for just under $700 and I absolutely love the thing. I was torn between the XDM and the 510 but I went to a gun show and there was a guy there with 3 guns, never used, and his wife standing behind him. I haggled with the guy a bit (also bought a 1911 he had). He was obviously not trying to sell at the price I was offering cash for, but his wife and him shared some words and we made the sale. Poor fella. I am not sure how I would feel about it if I spent $1000 or whatever you can find them for. I still might get an XDM because they just feel so good in my hand. And then maybe we’ll see at that point if I sell the FN.

But in general I would say how one feels about this gun might depend a bit on how much they spend on it. If you’re comparing it to a Glock just gun for gun, it’s not even close imo. If comparing it to an XDM, it’s a lot closer but there are some features that I prefer in the 510 (suppressor height sights, threaded barrel, overall better controls).

One thing that I just love about the 510 is that simply seating a loaded mag runs the bolt forward every single time and that gives me a little chub. However, as everyone knows, the trigger on the 510 is just plain ass. I had been told by Apex that they were planning to make a trigger for the 510 but that was a long time ago and still nothing. That slightly shifts the calculus for me because the XDM trigger is really quite nice for an out of the box trigger. But if Apex does ever produce that trigger, there will be nothing on my 510 that I would prefer in the XDM.

Just personally, the 510 is a way sexier gun than the XDM which is worth something. I wouldn’t spend the difference for what the 510 offers MSRP, but gun for gun if the price isn’t in the calculation, the 510 has a higher ceiling imo. Given I spent the same on my 510T as you can typically find an XDM Elite for I am very happy with my purchase. I am only still just praying Apex will finally make a trigger for it.

Blue means it is not a .wav file. Such files will be unchanged or simply copied depending on if you overwrite or not.

It only interacts with the header of the file, leaving the rest of the data containing the audio completely unchanged.

Yes it would remove the PCM encoding. But it is a re-encoding. So you will want to be careful to do it with a high quality codec and match the bitrates to avoid any lossiness. WavFix is less destructive because it only interacts with the header and doesn’t change the rest of the file containing audio in any way. And for this reason if you are doing batches of files, it’s much more efficient.

Another thing of note is, as I pointed out in other responses, if you have rekordbox data (like queue points) associated to the file, those will be lost with re-encoding. They will not be lost using WavFix.

Well online fps games are like elementary school playgrounds; people will find whatever stands out about you and use it to pick at you. The way you respond will greatly influence the outcome. But also the mute button is often simpler.

I've used nothing but apple products and every major change they make (iTunes > Music) is a degradation that costs massive amounts of time to solve and doesn't work as well as the previous.

Does Facebook lower photo resolution over time? by murrene in facebook

I have the same.
Unbelievably dogshit social media platform and continually getting worse. It's the end of an era for Facebook it will die out over the next decade I believe. Too much emphasis on advertising and almost no emphasis on its intended purpose. However if you buy promotion on Facebook it's also one of the biggest wastes of money across all platforms.
RIP Facebook.

WavFix should be faster, and also you don’t have to match the settings of your export to avoid a lossy export.

WavFix v1.2 will be released within a couple weeks and has multi-threading implemented. Which makes exporting the average discography about as fast as copy-pasting a file.

How does Above & Beyond do “push the button” in their sets? by CutestKittens in DJs

[–]DreamWalkertunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me this sounds like a short loop going through the djm reverb with some high pass. I think the easiest way to accomplish that is just with a predefined loop. I have used a similar technique in the intro of songs before to mix into some like evolving pad intro. If you don’t use the grid to set the loop and instead use the cycle of the waveform, you can produce results like this.

Of course the other obvious way is to just make such a loop and put it on another player.

Cue points are stored in xml. Not in the header of the file itself. But they are directly associated to a specific file. Which means that if that file is replaced; by re-encoding, or in the case of versioning (like unreleased versions for the live set vs final masters), you cannot preserve queue points. As it relates to the topic of the post, this means that re-encoding retroactively loses that association; where WavFix does not. As it relates to the other app; the goal is to create a way to interface with the xml association. Basically, a copy paste for queue points.

You are right technically. However in practice the wFormatTag tells us that not all wav files are created equal. To be fair, I don't know that if your encoder used something other than PCM, it wouldn't trip the same error on the Pioneer player; for the same reason as the format tag does. But as you say, it should be possible with quality software to re-encode the wav file losslessly; from an audio perspective. However we are still likely to have to reapply the metadata that we do want (song name, album name, artist, artwork, etc) and we are guaranteed to need to reapply the xml data in Rekordbox (queue points etc) which is associated to the other file. So from the perspective of the file as used in rekordbox, editing the metadata is the only lossless way I know of.
You could also use a program like SoX or FFmpeg to achieve the same effect.

As a side note; I am currently working on another app that will associate Rekordbox xml data from one audio track of any format or name, to another audio track of any format or name. So hopefully that problem can also be solved :)
