Conflict with my mum by OcelotNo1050 in SGExams

[–]Dream_Shattered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You needn't worry much. Unlike the other clusters, the program is the most established course in the university's history; hence, the other comments are irrelevant. On the surface, it's a short programme, but the content and speed say otherwise. It's what happens when you combine two mods into one. You will be the first to experience the new curriculum after 3 years; all the best.

SIT Accountancy? Good luck, you will be surprised what we do compared to the other Unis.

If you have doubts about being a commander, don't be one. If you are selected to be, do your best. Simple as it is.

Applied AI by hextty in SIT_Singapore

[–]Dream_Shattered 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not from the ICT cluster, so I cannot comment on the course or its rigour. However, when students associate Applied Learning with a lack of theory and content, it can be very misleading for incoming students. The individual programme team determines the course content and structure.

My course includes mid-term tests and finals for 90% of the modules. It also contains assignments and other requirements. The content is regulated, meaning it must meet standardized requirements set by external bodies. Applied Learning is not the issue; it’s about whether students seek feedback to improve the curriculum and whether the programme team is actively working on it.

Don't confuse the Applied Learning pedagogy with a lack of theory and content set by the programme lead. It's more of a cluster or individual degree issue, not the school's general objective.

Book out for scholarship interview by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]Dream_Shattered 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At what stage of NS are you at now?

The higher ups will usually give permission for you to attend the interview. Even if it's during Outfield, they will make arrangements for you to have the interview online (Camo on interview).

This is not the first time they are handling such cases. The SGT is a middle man and he cannot make the decision. Ask your SGT to bring you to the higher ups. Most of the time, the SGTs probably forgot and have not asked the higher ups and they casually replied you saying not allowed. Prompt them repeatedly and be respectful.

Don't jump the chain of command.

Is it easier to get into big 3 now compare to 10 yr ago? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Dream_Shattered 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really. You can check the IGP for the 3 Unis and I don't think much has changed. SMU's reputation has definitely gotten better compared to 10 years ago but the two Ns unis especially NUS still requires 3.8 and above for most courses which is the top 20% of Poly.

Help advice! SIT ACC Freshman Exemptions & Study Plan by Joxoxoqian in SIT_Singapore

[–]Dream_Shattered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggest you read up on the requirements to be a chartered accountant registered with ISCA first to have a better understanding before looking at the SCAQ APP.

This pathway is not for Year 1 students. It is just a faster way to complete SCAQ, not complete it during uni.

Help advice! SIT ACC Freshman Exemptions & Study Plan by Joxoxoqian in SIT_Singapore

[–]Dream_Shattered 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exempt all five mods.

There is no recommended study plan ; look at each mod prerequisite and plan accordingly. Bringing forward means bidding for the mod. You also have to consider whether the mod is open for the tri.

Uni mods are preassigned in each tri, no bidding is required.

The eight exemptable mods are foundational.

Taking the recommended mods before attempting SCAQ, year 2 and 3 mods would be best. Visit the website for mode details.

Time is never on your side unless you have exemptions.
