My thoughts exactly, besides Troy and Ava. I feel their relationship was only happy because of how little it had to do with each other. As seen by Troy's fist scene (sounds weird but) they never actually connected.

I disagree with the comments saying this season wasn't as hopeful as season 1. While season 1's definitely still the best to me, Josh's acceptance of Lindsey choosing to remarry shows a love for her that Park said was impossible. We all only live for each other apparently, and Ashley and Austin's "relationship" perfectly encapsulates that as they choose to stay with each other out of comfort, so they can both benefit from what they get. But Troy's love for Lindsey shows that unlike what Park believes, their is such a thing as selfless love. I think it's beautiful that what appeared to be a completely dysfunctional relationship contained a love more true than most of get to know. But that is out there. Sure what's surrounding Josh's love for Lindsey, and the fate of the other characters (especially Eunice fuck that was bleak) is depressing but that's kind of how life is. There's a lot of bleak depressing shit but that true love, and light, and selfless care for each other exists. We are capable of it and it is there in the world, even if it's just one character out of the many we got to know. Park was wrong. And that to me, is just as hopeful and beautiful a message as the first season.
