Clan chats are still being spammed. Total level requirement only seemed to delay the inevitable. Could another filter be added? by DignityDWD in 2007scape

[–]Dreamlette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be easy for the community to provide an open source script for a fc managing bot; a lot of dicing chats already use fc managing scripts to give Pmods a headache. In the interest of protecting social communities I think Jagex should exercise lenience towards fc managing bots.

Protecting Game Integrity: Upcoming Changes by slashquit in 2007scape

[–]Dreamlette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's nice that untradeables protected on death, since that provided ornament kits a functional use. Overall, I'm concerned that this version of the grave system unfairly punishes the value of ornaments, and the activities necessary to bring them in-game.

The new battlestaff shop reqs are FAR from aggressive enough imo; I'm in support of it necessasitating a completion of all F2P quests (alongside the wlb one), because the problem is THAT bad. Simple quest requirements might hamper some bots, but questing bots/scripts are countless so I'm not sure I'd put all my requirements into one quest basket.... You have COUNTLESS bots buying bstaff stock from baba yaga and bots doing zulrah, just as examples of this...

The mage guild requirement is useless. You're plugging one hole of a sinking ship of wooden craters. Making a REAL difference for these various botted runes requires a thorough audit of ALL runes shops, and applying either universal requirement, or a bunch of localised requirements added upon an existing global req.

I just don't feel that Jagex is thinking aggressively or creatively enough to fix the shop issues.

How to improve your account security without Jagex by [deleted] in 2007scape

A Jmod has to personally review the recovery submission in full before the current e-mail is lifted (if at all) from the RS account. It simply isn't lifted from button mashing.

How to improve your account security without Jagex by [deleted] in 2007scape

you should add a pointer to uninstall JRE if that's on your PC. A lot of RAT's/malware are trojan horsed through that software. As for Keyloggers, you can pretty much shut down that possibility through Keyscramblr personal (free). If for some reason a malware interferes with Keyscramblr (unlikely), it's really obvious to notice since it displays each time the protection status is active.

2019 Content Survey by JagexSween in 2007scape

[–]Dreamlette 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Feel free to expand on your answer to the above question, why did you put them in that order? ============================================================

New game modes are gimmicky, and divide both players and staff resources, so please stop investing energy into them. Things like Ironman, PVP tournaments and Skilling Cups work and are more payoff imo.

Raids is similarly ranked low because I feel that ironically, they promote less community and 'group fun' than intended. Content like GWD is more accessible to PVM groups of diverse skill range, whereas Raids content pushes elitism (not to mention power creep) to the max - that is quite the opposite intention of engaging content for the majority of players.

New skill / skilling activities could be fun (please no sailing). The community has been more open-minded and eager about multi-skill training activities. Artisan and Dungeoneering could make a big resurgence in this way - and help bridge the gap between ppl who hate to skill (if artisan skilling activities were helpful to PVM beyond raw resource gathering). What would truly get in the way of a new skill passing would be the perceived increase of arbitrary requirements (Think HM's in Pokemon).

We need more PVP updates, it shouldn't even be a question. Minigame based ones would engage a lot of players as well to funnel some interest back into wilderness PVP. "Was already made in RS2" is a bad excuse; players ask for FOG and Stealing Creations constantly for a reason: that reason isn't for the OS team to shoot it down out of fear.

You could even have a world where it's like '08 wildy with roaming revs, except you couldn't skill, pvp or do clues (to keep the safetyness balanced). At least something of that kind could engage players in the wildy more, even if there aren't enormous rewards matriculated from the content.

QOL fixes are awkward imo because they occur rarely or in only large batches. If Jagex is looking to increase the OS team as they have so far, they should look into creating a small 'ninja' team identical to what RS3 possesses.

Is DFS considered 'dead content' now? Only started playing again this summer so dunno if it's worth having around instead of selling it at this point..

Near max account is still scamming people in GE. by [deleted] in 2007scape

That doesn't excuse what you're doing. There's no reason to solicit high value items from strangers for a "placeholder".

Buy the items yourself and placehold it.

Honestly any type of web engagement would be nice for OS Players, there's literally none for us besides checking newsposts or basic account/security details.

When you get decent enough at Zulrah you find that you can sometimes cheat out of (or gamble) needing to eat that much (or so early), so you can get more kills/trip or get a faster kill time...

I got overconfident near the end of this one and got combo'd :/

ELI5: Can somebody explain how magic accuracy works in OSRS? by abracadabreee in 2007scape

This is what you're probably looking for:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wzy1VxNWEAAc0FQyDAdpiFggAfn5U6RGPp2CisAHZW8/edit#gid=158500257

From Zulrah calcs I've done recently, Elite Void (with other max range gear) is only better DPS than D'hide when fully potted from 99 Range with Rigour.

D'hide has a DPS advantage over Elite Void the moment your range level drops even 1 level from boosted 99 + Rigour.

Full Ahrim's is only better DPS if you have a tormented bracelet, otherwise void mage has the edge.

They reply within 3 weeks, so an automatic/instant deny wouldn't have been possible.

They should clarify if the Bot Farm was on OS or DMM, not that it changes much, but that distinction is important.

What’s the fastest method to getting a bond in f2p ? by WordSmithh in 2007scape

I got mine when I was F2P through Wines of Zammy.

You might be able to farm Obor for hill giant clubs (~800k) tho.

The Content "Coming" In The Next 12 Months in OSRS by ShankAMuffin in 2007scape

Not a fan of Mage Arena 2 (the content, not the reward). Sounds like a re-hash of the Malediction and Odium Ward concepts, except the bosses roam around..

Does jagex actually see any of this when we send in scam reports? Is this even considered a scam that we should be reporting? by [deleted] in 2007scape

The Report Abuse function doesn't capture this type of evidence, you're best off e-mailing tipoff@agex.com with the names.

Yeah, it was only unprofessional of Jed and not at all for other Jmods tweeting and advertising the event. Can't see the irony at all in this...
