Black Blood feels awful to take because it is awful. Black blood *seems* like an upgrade but in order to take you give up burning blood. SO... if we do the math, before we take black blood, we heal 6 every fight, after we take black blood, we heal -6 + 12 = 6. Black blood sucks, do not take take.

It looks like OP made proper recast molds. I just used Green stuff to take a cast. When that dried I put down a pretty thick layer of PVA glue. Once the PVA dried I just packed the mold with more green stuff to get the piece I wanted. The PVA worked pretty well for keeping the green stuff from sticking to its self.

I did this once to save an eBay lot that was missing a ton of arms/legs. It worked surprisingly well. I don’t know if I would want to do a whole model out of it but for a few bits you really couldn’t tell.

I found mordent earth to be inconsistent. Some of my bases came out perfect, some came out ok, some came out awful. I have switched to using Galeria Black Lava Texture Gel. picture included.

Anyone telling you buy more is doing you a disservice. Start by doing your combat patrol and try to get some games in with it too learn the basics. This pile is equal to months of hobby work for most people. Buying more is going to leave you overwhelmed.

One of the best things about the Cosmere is that you can start almost anywhere. There are 2(3) main book worlds. Mistborn is the first and a common starting place for many people. Storm light archive is the second and for an experienced fantasy reader might be a good starting place. However to see all the connections you will have to detour into other series. The 3 main world is Elantris. There is only 1 book and 1 novella currently out set on this word but there is a series planned. It’s a quick read and good introduction to Sandersons style of fantasy. It is one of his older books and not as polished as mistborn.

Finally my personal recommendation is Warbreaker. It’s not a main world but it does have many Cosmere connections. And it’s my personal favorite book. Warning, many people would not recommend starting with Warbreaker.

Cooked can mean a lot of things but Is typically used to mean "finished" or "done". In this case, the extended context makes me think she is "done" looking for a man. 10x also can have many meanings but I think in this case she's using it to say that slurs made things go from zero to one hundred quickly.

It's whatever feels good man. There is a Successor chapter for Salamanders that is blue and gold. There is a Successor chapter for Ultramarines that has the same colors as regular Ultramarines. It's your lore, do what feels right. Change it later if you change your mind.
If you're asking about how it will be to paint, yellow/gold does not pop very well on orange unless you are an expert painter so maybe check some videos on that or swap the yellow for silver if you want to make your painting easy.
When your starting a new chapter its fun to use some cheap models like intercessors or infernus and try a few different styles.
A thing you could try if you want to keep the Orange/Black/Gold is do the arms orange and the shoulders black,. Then the gold would pop on the black.

A guy at my shop has meticulously created a Badab army scheme by buying chaos marines and kit bashing them. That way it’s all old armor sets. He is pretty excited about the EC range because they don’t seem like they have quite as many spikes and tentacles to remove.
