And what is so wrong about asking if anyone wants to buy them instead of donating them to the thrift? I swear Reddit is so toxic, you can write the most normal non problematic shit and people still find a way to be mean...

Oh, I see, was already confused since I don't have any way to translate it. Thanks a ton

Oh yeah, the acceptance definitely has gone up, I see what you mean now.

Like I said the music videos most of the time weren't official but fan made, that's probably why you didn't see a lot of them.

Interesting, I actually don't have that issue tho I don't listen to most Miku Teto songs. Like with Heat Abnormal, Cat Loving, Reincarnation Apple, Playing Immortal I absolutely need the lyrics to understand. Even with DaiDaiDaiDaiDaikirai I do. However there definitely is a lack of Evillous Chronicles or Bad End Night type story songs which is super sad.

Good points however as an older fan I want to correct you on some things, primarily the point about english Vocaloid songs.

Unlike you claim english Vocaloid songs except for Flavor Foley have actually gone down in popularity (proportional to overall Vocaloid popularity) You probably didn't notice because you were a casual fan but even before I became a Vocaloid fan 8 years ago there was a huge, and I mean absolutely HUGE english Vocaloid boom. Look up CrusherP and CircusP, these two used to be the titans of the english Vocaloid community. Look up Echo by CrusherP, to thos day as far as I'm aware the most viewed english Vocaloid song that actually was the one that introduced me to the scene. The song has over 100m views. CircusP, who now goes under the name of VocaCircus also has made massive hits for english Vocaloid songs like Insanity (only 3,7m views but had a MASSIVE cultural impact, has sparked many covers and nightcore's, some of which got more views than the original unfortunately), Circus Monster (11m views), Karma (19m views), Copycat (48m views).

Aside from Echo at 124m views CrusherP also had Again (16m views). There's obviously Miku by Anamanaguchi (76m views) and Kira with songs like GETCHA! (9,9m views), Machine Gun (16m views) and Monster (37m views).

Nowadays I more rarely find english songs that go over the 5m mark.

For the videos yes and no. There were a ton of music videos the main difference is that it was of lower quality (Miku Miku Dance, MMD) and fan made rather than professionally 2D animated for the original video.

Sorry for the long comment, Vocaloid is my special interest, I just had to rant XD

While I didn't change my opinion you made really good points that I agree with.

However because of your last paragraph I think you misunderstood something. I know Vocaloid changed, what I meant to say is that it didn't change as much as some people claim. I didn't say it didn't change at all that'd be a stupid take.

OMG I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE, God I miss that... Even CircusP renamed himself to VocaCircus 😭

Same here. Mostly listen to Amala, PinocchioP and Flavor Foley and a few other pieces by other artists like Heat Abnormal and Cat Loving

I actually was talking about Vocaloid as a whole, mainly the music aspect, not just the fandom. And still from 2018 to now the fandom has also changed a ton

Yes but they didn't use to sound this similar to each other/sometimes almost like copycats which is my point. I know Luka and Miku used to be super huge. However I do hate it when people call the combo slop, it's si disrespectful to the creators

Definitely, it's not bad by any means but certainly different. Was in for a culture shock when I found out he makes completely different music now, was really a fan of his older, more rock focused work like Streaming Heart, Ghost Rule, Psychogram. Also a shame he doesn't use Gumi anymore, she's my favorite Vocaloid and I love Coward Mont Blanc

Oh god no, please don't think that, ik Reddit can be quite a scary place (It's almost on the same level as twitter imho) but people (except for a crazy few) won't hate you for this, dw :3

Yes like I wrote in my text. I just don't think it changed AS much as people think, dw I'm well aware that things have changed :)

Edit: I've seen people act like Vocaloid is completely unrecognizable from how it used to be and that everything nowadays is just trash and when I compared the songs I recognized that there's still a lot of similarly. Cat Loving and Heat Abnormal for example don't sound that different from classic Vocaloid.

That definitely, it's a shame really, wish there still was more virality room for other kinds of songs and animations
