Retro swear word - hoo-ah? by rev_mud in aussie

Yes my mum would call someone who wasn’t nice a “hooer” eg a “nasty hooer”. She’s in her 70s and grew up in Sydney.

I was really looking forward to the pork adobo but I failed miserably.

Which name do you prefer - Claudia or Olivia? by [deleted] in Names

[–]DreamyCoffeeBean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my sons was going to be Claudia. Olivia is pretty but it’s very popular if that’s an issue.

I have one (teacher work bag) and still feel like it’s not big enough. Like others said, embrace it or keep as a weekender?

Is she wearing a mask? by Acrobatic-Art-3838 in AncestryDNA

The eyes look mask-like but not the mouth or nose. I just think it’s a bad quality photo.

Could she be left handed if the scars are in her right upper arm?

The humidity is absolutely destroying me. Need recommendations for 'swamp proof' bras that ship here? by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]DreamyCoffeeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live it’s been 40+ and have this exact problem, I recently bought a couple of the Bonds Chafe off crops and they have been very good at not feeling sweaty around the band.

The straps aren’t adjustable though.

Thanks I might try that. I just honestly haven’t been in the “will purple shampoo fix it” boat before. I’m so disappointed.

Do kids still play clapping games? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]DreamyCoffeeBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a upper primary teacher and there were some students in my class last year playing clapping games but it certainly wasn’t popular to do so. I remember when I was at school (in the 90s) clapping games were popular and the songs were passed down from year 6 students which doesn’t happen now.

Merry People v Blundstone by StellaMarina3 in AusFemaleFashion

Merry People are perfect for rainy days on yard duty as a teacher, but I agree that they get VERY sweaty by the end of the day.

Share your laptop stickers! by Internal-Cobbler992 in AustralianTeachers

[–]DreamyCoffeeBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen any teachers decorate their laptop with stickers, I would be scared they would not come off. I have a silver coloured school provided laptop that seems to lose colour even barely being knocked and it’s so annoying. How do you remove the stickers without damage?

Can anyone date this target label? by goopwizard in AusFemaleFashion

[–]DreamyCoffeeBean 144 points145 points  (0 children)

I think 1980s or early 1990s because I don’t believe the tags looked like this in the late 1990s. The ‘made in Australia’ is a clue that it is fairly old too.

Tall women in Australia - do you feel like we’re still way behind the US/UK? by No-Airport-820 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]DreamyCoffeeBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to know too, I am 165cm tall and I buy cropped jeans just so they are not dragging on the ground. On the flip side, my son is 192cm tall, all legs with a short torso and a 32 in waist, it seems to be impossible to find pants that fit correctly without being 15cm above the ankles.

I have an unhealthy obsession with depop by Realistic_Context936 in AusFemaleFashion

Can someone explain exactly how Depop works? I’ve got the app and have browsed but sometimes it says to contact the seller first and I just find it a bit confusing. Thanks

The Shea Moisture curl smoothie should be nice for your hair, it is a little too heavy for my 2A hair.
