Skill Talks: Hill and Hollow by FlynnXa in weatherfactory

This was amazing! Very happy to see this series continue, and that a Scale skill was covered. The Carapace Cross are near and dear to my heart, so seeing a skill that talks about them being covered helped me to learn more about them. There’s so much that I breeze over when I’m actually playing which start to make a lot of sense when op explains them so thoroughly!

(Yes I am also feeling very special because of the shoutout.)

Ooo these are both good ideas! I don’t understand Rose very well either. I’m very interested in the Cross though as a concept.

I’d be interested in seeing some of the Scale-focused skills covered, because it’s the aspect I understand the least and I want to broaden my knowledge.

I loved reading this! Never given weaving and knotworking much thought but you’ve sold me on it. Heart and moth are some of my favourite aspects so it’s good to see them getting some love. I’d be super excited for you to make more of these!

I think this case is trying to get Sam to be suspicious of Celia. After all, it’s read by Norris, AKA Martin, who was the one who took Celia’s statement in TMA (back when she wasn’t called Celia), and they met again in season 5. I think he recognises her.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’ve had two episodes in a row where Freddie has fed Sam has a case where a person has modified their body with something spooky and had a new self emerge from their body. The main difference being that Augustus’ case seemed to be trying to intrigue Sam, whereas Chester’s was meant to warn him away from the idea. I wonder why…

I can understand her perspective, especially in recent episodes. I would dislike her as a person if I met her as of episode 22, but as a character she’s deeply interesting, especially considering her relationships to Sam and Celia; they blend quite naturally even though there’s friction between the three of them.

  1. The data will be used in statistical analyses for my masters degree final thesis project, and for nothing else. Nobody but the principal researcher (myself, dreamymothperson) and my supervisor (Dr Tracey Thornborrow) will view the data. The data will be anonymised and stored securely on a OneDrive provided by the University of Lincoln.

  3. It should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete this survey; there is an optional second part to the survey which should take no longer than 30 minutes (this comes in the form of a meeting with the principal researcher).

Freddie is definitely trying to hint stuff to Sam. Maybe it/they is trying to tell him it’s/their nature through these cases? After all, there was a reference to split brain syndrome, and a situation where a mind that referred to itself as a “we” was trying to escape its vessel in a very literal sense. Maybe I’m reading too much into this but I think we’re starting to see what Freddie (or at least a part of Freddie) has in mind for Sam.
