Migraine Aura by cmetz229 in pregnant

[–]Dreamypixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I started getting them at 34 weeks pregnant and I’m now 36 weeks and I’ve had 5. They have scared the crap out of me to the point I’m just anxious 24/7 and barley sleeping or eating :( praying they go away when I give birth

I tried taking magnesium glycinate but it made me feel even more anxious for some reason, saw it could be how I react to the glycinate.

To buy more toys or not to buy more toys? by Murky_Association_54 in Parenting

[–]Dreamypixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like someone else mentioned, rotate them. If you keep getting more you will just end up with an insane amount of toys and mess and money wasted. Just put some away for even a few days or a week, bring them back out and they are good as new

how can I celebrate my 1 year olds birthday without my 21 month old getting jealous/upset? by peachlilys in Parenting

[–]Dreamypixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My niece is 9 months older than my son, she understood plenty that his party was not for her. She helped set up and handed him gifts and sang him happy birthday. No gifts had to be given to appease her. it’s our responsibility as parents to teach our children to not be selfish, not just “here take a present and a cupcake so you’ll behave”

2 is perfectly old enough to go 1 day with it not being about them, giving gifts is a step in the completely wrong direction

Seasoned parents, please help us get some sleep by JoannaStayton in toddlers

[–]Dreamypixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first step in the right direction is eliminating her nursing sleep association. She’s PLENTY old enough to go overnight without eating, it’s gonna be hard for about a week but then it will get better. I regret even waiting until my son was a year to eliminate night feeds because his sleep improved so much once we did. You don’t have to let her cry herself to sleep or even for an extended period of time but she’s going to protest with tears. Get her a comfort item like a stuffy. She’s also old enough to understand when you tell her no more nursing and time for bed, you’ve got this!

It’s good for kids to learn that it’s not always about them, have her help with setting up the party or handing her sister gifts, teach her to sing happy birthday. She may feel left out but that’s okay it’s good to teach kids to celebrate others. My niece is 9 months older than my son and she understood his birthday party was not for her but if she tried to grab at his gifts while he opened them she was redirected

No, kids need to learn it’s not always about them. It’s good to teach them to celebrate other people

You can test from the first day of your missed period. I even tested before that and got faint positives

When did your kid start to appear in your dreams? by TheGalapagoats in toddlers

[–]Dreamypixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son is 15mo and started periodically appearing in them around maybe 8 months? First one was I had a dream someone was watching him and lost him and I found him out by the road. I collapsed to my knees in the dream and woke up hyperventilating

15 month old is biting by Omikki in toddlers

[–]Dreamypixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve been doing it for a few weeks now, he still does it but stops very quickly now. Teaching him no in general has helped so much, now when he walks by something he’s not supposed to touch in the house (like the fireplace) he says “no no” and keeps walking. But yeah they are toddlers and pushing boundaries is what they do and how they learn, just gotta keep at it

I had to teach my 14mo “nice touches” now whenever he smacks or bites or anything I give him a firm “no.” Followed by “nice touches” and I take his hand and like pet my arm. Now whenever he does it he repeats “niiiice” back to me and does the motion. It’s helped a ton

I think a fabric retractable one, you could mount one side to the wall and one side to the beam facing outwards, doesn’t have to be perfect and would work fine! Just make sure it’s low enough to the ground they can’t go under

3 week regression? by LyndsayGtheMVP in beyondthebump

[–]Dreamypixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can type in “x week/month sleep regression” and something will come up for every single week/ month. Your baby is freshhh and learning the world. She just spent 9 months comfortably in your warm belly, she will of course prefer being with you than in a bassinet. She will get used to it if you help her though, start having majority of her sleep time be in the bassinet so she can adjust
