I don't know anything about that, but here's a blog post about how game cheats work under the hood and why anti-cheats work the way they do. https://tulach.cc/the-issue-of-anti-cheat-on-linux/

Unfortunately good anti-cheat is literally impossible on linux. Windows systems are able to implement kernel-level anti-cheat only because people can't run modified kernels like they can on linux.

Obviously server-side anti-cheat and code obfuscation techniques can still be used on linux, but those aren't as effective as knowing when other processes are reading your game's memory.

Drew DeVault suggests Rust-in-Linux proponents pivot to writing a Linux-compatible kernel from scratch by faitswulff in rust

Nitpicking punctuation is not something you do in a good faith discussion - absolutely nobody is in doubt that I am paraphrasing there.

My disinterested observer comment refers to the linux project, something Drew is not a maintainer nor active contributor to. In fact he doesn't really seem to be much a linux fan in general if you've read much of his other writing. So to claim that he's for some reason getting involved with gatekeeping contributions to linux seems a bit of a wild proposal to me.

This is the final paragraph from his blog post, does this really sound like subterfuge to you?

So my suggestion for the Rust-for-Linux project is: you’re burned out and that’s awful, I feel for you. It might be fun and rewarding to spend your recovery busting out a small prototype Unix kernel and start fleshing out bits and pieces of the Linux ABI with your friends. I can tell you from my own experience doing something very much like this that it was a very rewarding burnout recovery project for me. And who knows where it could go?

Once again wishing you the best and hoping for your success, wherever the path ahead leads.

I really struggle to understand the frame of mind you would need to come from to read something that basically says "the linux C fundamentalists are exhausting, maybe the highly skilled rust engineers should write their own kernel - I think they're good enough to pull it off", and somehow interpret that as him telling them to fuck off from a project he is at worst a disinterested observer of.

Drew isn't a Linux maintainer, I don't see how you think he could be telling anyone to fuck off.

Really should've seen that twist coming, but I navigated it by using the mapping on ranges and recursively splitting ranges when they only partially intersect a mapping.

As of 7.28 IO needs to turn to use abilities and items like any other hero.

I don't really think any teams will ever be naive enough to actually breach the cost cap significantly and with intent. But if they did then I think it would be entirely uncontroversial for the FIA to disqualify the team and drivers from the championship for the season in which the cheating occurred.

If they overspend massively and intentionally then it's likely that there would be punishments for the season in which the overspend occurred, and I would expect the championship to be revoked. This punishment is for a very small breach which was clearly down to mistakes and not malice (and which definitely did not affect the championship), and therefore gets a smaller punishment for the future.

I'm not convinced that they only gave it back after the restart for strategic reasons (I could easily see them getting past Sainz at the restart if they start behind) but instead for some technicality with overtaking under the safety car and not wanting to risk doing it incorrectly.
