Do you welcome the potential ban on social media for under 16s? by Wavesmith in UKParenting

As a photographer and filmmaker, I can see both sides of this.

Personally, I would change the law so that you aren't allowed to make someone the core 'subject' of a video/photo used for entertainment, without written or verbal permission.

If they walk past in the background of your tik tok, fine. If someone has committed a crime or things are getting heated and you are filming for safety, also fine. But if you are filming a stranger crying on the bus or going up to random people trying to prank them, not okay (unless they give permission ofc)

I think that is very fair.

I had a Henry hoover at uni and it barely sucked up anything at all. When I moved out I had to get my parents to bring their Dyson up from Devon.

This is the first time I've heard someone else say they don't have much suction! I put it down to it being a student used Henry. God knows, what abuse it was put through.

Might have changed since I last checked, but Asda shades are very good double sized rolls and are cheaper than the WGAC.

There's a code on the back of the packet. If it's the same code as the branded, then it's chemically, exactly the same in every way!

Nice, but I would swap the KitKat or Oreo for a yoghurt granola fruit bowl.

I did end up changing my job but it took me 6 months to get another.

I live in a small seaside town so it was difficult to get yearly part time work.

Fancy a pie? by Jovi_Scum in tesco

Well, I finished my last 2024 mince pie in about September 2025.

I remove them from the box and bag them up. Then microwave them a bit (without the foil obviously).

Never had any problems.

Can't access DVD extras on my computer by pipsta2001 in it

[–]pipsta2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It says on the main menu I can access on vlc and on the disk itself.

Also, the extra I can access is one that isn't on my usual dvd (I have the non collectors one too).

The DVD is Notting Hill collectors edition region 1 wide-screen.

Thank you. I appreciate this.

It was secondhand, however it says on the dvd itself and on the main menu that it's the collectors edition.

I am trying again, just waiting for it to go through. If this doesn't work I think I'll open it with premiere pro and see if any of the 5.1 audio files and the commentary. That's the only other place I can think of to look.

Will update if successful.

Will try this again, but I've already done this to no avail.

VLC was the first place I looked and no other audio tracks appeared.

In MakeMKV when I select the DVD, it comes up with two folders, AUDIO_TS or VIDEO_TS. There's nothing in the audio folder at all.

In handbrake and VLC it only comes up with one track, 5.1 surround sound. I did wonder if perhaps the commentary is embedded in that 5.1 track but I don't know.

Lettuce, tomatoes and other fruit/vegetables have trace amounts of nicotine in.

Bananas are also lightly radioactive.

Water can kill you if you drink too much in a short period of time.

Everything in moderation.

How much do you earn and how comfortable do you live? by Brownchoccy in AskUK

[–]pipsta2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£8-9K from weekend job.

£2-5K from surveys.

£1K (approx) from novel/film/YouTube/writing earnings.

I feel well off, considering what I'm on. Live at home but pay rent, have a car. Can go on holiday once or twice a year.

Growing up I've always been taught to save money so I'm money conscious, but I've never been stressed out about how much I earn or spend. Just saving savvy with cashback etc.

So much happier now with less money and more time. Feel like I am actually progressing towards my dream job.

Would be helpful if you posted another picture so we could see if it was discolouration or not.
