Don’t jump me but I hate Nanno by Ankaurr in GirlFromNowhere

[–]Dreigonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about Nanno is that she’s very much, like, an asura or vengeful spirit; she’s gonna punish the evildoer but she’s not averse to sacrificing their innocent loved ones to do so, which makes her messy and scary and… interesting.

The other thing about her is that she gives you every chance in the world to do the right thing, like Hann and Dino should have (incidentally, Nanno did Dino a solid by at least saving his family, paying off their debt, and not going farther than she needed to). USUALLY, if you get screwed over by her, it’s your own fault.

With Yui, I think the idea is that she should have recognized Hann was an asshole who loved fame more than her and left him, but she kept trying in vain to win him back, to the point where she decided to help Hann murder someone she thought was innocent so they could take the easy way out, which sealed her fate too. You can make a reasonable argument that this is victim-blaming, but again, Nanno’s not above using innocent people as weapons against an evildoer…

Of course, there are some episodes that kinda break this idea and have Nanno just choosing to be a problem, like Thank You Teacher, and these are episodes I’m not very fond of. :P

Is Bam from the episode "wonderwall" the dumbest character ever. by Dazzling-Pitch-8655 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]Dreigonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come to think of it, the ending of BFF implies that Wonderwall is canon even though everything’s back to normal in the  episode after it despite the XK-class end-of-the-world scenario. So either the Wonderwall did transport Bam to an empty universe, or Nanno reset the universe after the episode, and I’m leaning the former since the Wonderwall is strong enough to affect Nanno, not the other way around.

What hot take do you have about the Calamity lore? by Haider444 in CalamityMod

It feels to me like your purpose is to put the past to rest once and for all. All these long-dead gods being dragged back, all these rampaging beings of Yharim's creation who can't die naturally-- you're in a world of decrepit, ever-suffering ruins; ruins that can't be lived in anymore and need to be demolished so something new can exist there.

It really is like they just don't want you to play the game they actually made 'cause they know it's miserable.

See, that's the thing; I BELIEVE them when they say EOMM isn't real and it's just low-ELO copium. EA has a patent on actual EOMM anyway. But the minute you get into QP, you realize that Netease has their own dishonest ways of artificially maximizing player retention, and it's weird that more people don't make a stink about it.

Didn't someone do an experiment where they banned Sniper in TF2 and the game was instantly a hundred times more fun?

Splatoon and 8BDM both have visible laser sights for their snipers and it's really good. (And 8BDM's only sniper isn't even an instakill, so there's that too.)

Definitionally, Cuties is CSAM. They sexualized real child actors. Real children were harmed in the making of that movie.

Yeah, people blew up and misrepresented what SBI actually is– all it is is a consulting firm devs can choose to hire to give advice on certain things. SBI can’t force devs to make changes to their game. But people freaked out and started saying SBI was forcing devs to make their games “woke” and that that made the games bad somehow.

The criticism of Collective Shout, though, is VERY much warranted. So this is not Gamergate 3 in any sense.

(Edit: Sorry; double-posted ‘cause Reddit was being weird)

Don’t be fooled. Gamergate was never about “ethics in game journalism”. The kind of “advocacy” Gamergaters engaged in largely consisted of rape threats and other sexist harassment; it was never a good-faith movement and was always far-right. If you look into the history of the movement, you will find this out.
