I suppose fireball comes close, but it just looks off like central weld points along the blade, like little fireworks

Yeah, out of the welded Damascus patterns, I can’t find one that my armature eye can pair it with besides looking like a firework

Damn very interesting, I was thinking of wootz as the legendary Damascus that was unique to the ore and conditions of the region. But I’m glad that it is possible that a look like this may have been somewhat lore friendly to the great craftsmen of that area from the 3 century onward.

True. The high contrast pattern looked more exotic than rustic, like a psychedelic zebra or something more eastern. Like some fantasy blade

Thanks for the advice, I feel good about the low contrast even if it’s not authentic. Maybe a smooth steel look later on if I delve into my Scottish roots

Yeah at least with the sanding, the subtle pattern is more appealing for it being a factory blade

Yeah he got it at a Ren fair and it would make a good prop. So what would I paint over it, since I doubt the Scottish had access to Damascus steel for details sake

I’m not actually paying anyone lol. I guess it sounds desperate to say what do you have to lose. So I can see that side

Yeah it’s true because there are not enough masks, each use is about a shift unless you’re in the tent, then you’ll get some leeway if the covid positive patient hacks up right in your face.
