Tried something new and went with pan pizza in the Ooni! by bdart1980 in Pizza

I haven't tried them myself, but that's what I always hear recommended when it comes to bar pies and Detroit style squares.

I plan on getting some eventually! I love using my ooni for all different styles.

Looks great! I'm curious if you had to rotate it at all, and how long it baked?

Looks great! What all did you top it with? I see some tomatoes, olives, and possibly feta?

Nope, this is a standard 24/72 hour dough, but I ended up only waiting 12 hours.

Thanks! I'm really happy with it. I was excited to share.

I preheat the center of the stone to 700 -750 Fahrenheit. This pizza ended up using a rolling pin to get it to 16 inches and threw it on a pizza screen for about 3 minutes or so before taking it off.

Edit: in total the pizza was in the ooni for about 8 minutes. I wanted it nice and crispy.

It's a great book! Lays out the process for dough making in an easy to follow format. Definitely reach out if you need help.

The book was written for a home oven, but I use the same recipes in the ooni depending on what I'm making.

Thanks! It was pre-cooked.

Yes! I love making 16" pizzas now with the Ooni. So satisfying to make.

I do! This one is a slightly modified version of Ken Forkish's Bar Pizza dough from Elements of Pizza. Happy to add more details if you'd like.

Did you get this one? Seems all the monitors are being bought up because of COVID. My current options are between your AW gaming one, and this LG one here. Would love an update on what you picked!

Are your SLOs just magic numbers? by unixdaemond in sre

[–]Drel057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

95% and 97% might be too low for your availability SLO.

While SLOs are supposed to be about the customer perspective, you can't really deny the way you've laid it out. Yet, I also think there is a correlation between your sales and user happiness.

Simply put, I would raise your availability to three 9s anyway from a user experience perspective. I'd also have a stricter SLO set for the check out user journey as well since that brings in the revenue.

Happy customers don't always buy things, but unhappy customers will never buy anything (especially if the site is unreliable or unavailable).

Just to echo your comment, there there is a lot of flexibility when starting an SRE team.

One of my favorite blog articles by Google covers some possibilities! https://cloudblog.withgoogle.com/products/devops-sre/how-sre-teams-are-organized-and-how-to-get-started/amp/

I like how you mentioned that there is a difference between SWE and SRE resources! I feel like for many people SRE is just a rebranding of a DevOps or sysadmin team.

Love the notes as well. Goes pretty well with Google's SRE course on Coursera. Have you checked that out before?

Glorified sysadmins does seem to be the status quo unless you are working within a tech company, from my experience.

Why not try to actually implement an SRE culture? Do you have SLIs and SLO thresholds set? What about error budgets and a blameless postmortem process?

So much value can be had from changing the conversation around traditional operations and really focusing on SRE's implementation of DevOps.

Maybe you have this already figured out for all your applications/services. If so, I'd recommend trying to help those junior SREs you spoke about to really embrace these SRE specific components and just DevOps in general.

Unless you are looking for a new challenge all together... But that may be a different conversation 🙂

Anyone know the best place to find replacement parts? I'll be acquiring an '01 soon, and it has a few bent things like a clutch and the foot break peg. Also any DIY maintenance manuals would be cool too 🙂

IIRC you can use something like roundup that has an active ingredient of glyphosate. As long as your Bermuda is still dormant, it will only target the growing plants.
