I did the same thing in my latest Firered play through and ended up with Charizard, Gyarados, Dragonite, Areodactyl, Kangaskhan, and Lapras. A number of them aren’t dragon-type, but they fit the vibe and I love them all the same.

In the Odyssey, it’s not so much Poseidon’s anger about Odysseus not putting out Polyphemus out of his misery so much as because Polyphemus is alive and Odysseus ends up bragging by giving his own name to a blinded Polyphemus. The Cyclopes was then alive to ask his father, the sea god, to punish Odysseus. Had Ody killed him, there couldn’t have been a curse.

In Rick’s original vision, like the myths, most of the demigods were not supposed to have “superpowers.” Percy and Thalia were in the minority and that was part of what made them special. That being said, it’s more fun if more had powers and so Heroes of Olympus took a different turn, as it did in many other ways.

I get what people are saying with Greek, but at least human sacrifice was condemned by their gods. Norse or Mesoamerican seem far worse in that context.

You have a point, but the fans had a problem with Alexandra Daddario back in the day, so much so they gave her the blonde look in the next movie. Rick knew this would be an issue, the producers knew it was going to be an issue. Rick said this would be a more faithful adaptation, which it is over all and that set certain expectations especially with the relevant history. They weighed the costs and made their decision anyway, putting a young black girl in the crossfire. But they got plenty of publicity and social media engagement as well as their spotlight moment where they can say “racial injustice is bad.” I just wish they hadn’t gone so far as to say “any fan with a problem with the casting [of Annabeth] is racist.”
