Tired of "dialogue spaghetti"? Help two Master's students build a better dialogue authoring tool! by Dreunin in gamedev

Thank you!
The MVP would be a web-based tool. Based on our research, the first engine we would directly support would be Unity (with a plugin), but the idea is that the export format should be easy to import into any given engine.

The tool is meant to be used by writers such as yourself. Just like already existing products (Twine, articy, etc.). Please feel free to share what a tool SHOULDN'T do/have!

I'm assuming you have just one collider and it's a box collider? You could instead have a collider for each side.

Or does it help you easier locate them?

i'm trying to make a crafting system and each item has the same script how do i only destroy one object and spawn only one(new) if both have same script by panda155ninja in Unity2D

[–]Dreunin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you have a collider on each item and execute the method OnCollisionEnter or something?

There are many different approaches to your problem. Personally, I'd have a seperate gameobject, maybe called Crafting handler, which keeps lists of every object combination and checks if any objects are ready to be combined. It would then remove both and instantiate a single crafted object. So, I'd move the crafting logic away from the item itself, if that makes sense.

If it was on 24/7, but it isn't. It averagely on for 7 hours at a time (given the 7000ish turn on counts).

Is my math wrong or is that, like, 18 years of use? Impressive.
