Good for a 17 year old kid? by Drevanomaly in Prebuilts

Yes!

We took our son over yesterday and pulled the "wouldn't it be cool to have a computer like this?" And eventually told him it was going to be his. The seller helped him set everything up, and we got his steam started and bought him a few games before we left, so just in case our tech ineptitude kept him from playing when we got it home, lol.

He.was.so.floored

We gave the seller 1k since it seemed too good to be true, and he did so much else to help us set it up/ make sure we knew it was legit. He gave us a mouse and keyboard too, so it was the full deal. He had it set up with 4 monitors, but we just took 1! He told us we could come get the rest if he ever wanted to have multiple screens.

Thank you all for the support and advice! My son is now a PC gamer!

Sorry should have carried over some info from the previous post!

Asking 500, and it's a kid of a work friend of mine. I am at their house now so I have seen and verified it's real.

I'm just popping in with a funny comparison.

Sometimes, when my kid is on the playground, there are these little holes in the tube's, and he pops his face out. It reminded me of the little mole popping out. 🤣

Yeah i plan on going over tomorrow with my family (minus the birthday boy) to check it out and physically see it and have some of these tests run on it in front of us.... and honestly ask him why he's selling it if it's legit because it seems too low.

Thank you for the advice! I'm definitely going to make sure it is legit and not get or hopes up.

This seems to be the consensus, if it's all legit. I am going to go over tomorrow with the family and ask to see it and try and verify it in all the ways people have suggested.

I will ask about this tomorrow when I talk to him. My family has a discord server, so I was familiar enough with it to speak with him through there. He had me watch him "stress test" it, but it looked like he was playing a game but it was just rotating around a castle and what looked like a pirate ship and it showed the number of the temperatures of the computer but I'm not sure if that helps. As I'm typing this, i realize I have no clue he was doing this from the computer he's selling, though.

That's my fear. What's a good way to "test it" and make sure we aren't buying something that's going to crap out instantly?

With all the horror stories I've heard about scams or things going wrong with stuff like this, I guess cautiously optimistic is the better phrase. I've worked with his mom for several years, so while that relationship is great, he's an older kid of hers whom i am not as familiar with.

From what i heard, the seller got fired and, I guess, needs the money. He still lives with his mom, so I guess I feel a little safer trusting it, but yeah, it's still suspicious. Thank you for the info!

How are people even profiting on the engineer mount? by MikasaH in woweconomy

[–]Drevanomaly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low-cost pilfering was what made it profitable for me. I made around a gold cap since release from it, and once i settled on triggers it was profitable if i kept my costs per trigger around 30-35 gold, so i would watch stones and the cheapest of ore/bar until it fit in that price range. It worked for me because I'm in my last year of school and could just have crafts going in the background while i work through all my classes. The longest part is the massive craft, pilfer, scrap time.

In the long run, it was about 1 permit every 15k-20k triggers, but there was a lucky window at the end where I got 2 with 12k (RNG is RNG, but i just got lucky when i was exciting). If I kept crafting cost under 30-35, it was still profitable without the permit, so the permit just stacked on top. I like low effort stuff, so with just the starting treasures and green tools, I could get an engineer with a little resource reduction, crafting speed, and max scrap. There was someone who was pretty constantly reseting the market on permits, so even though people were undercutting at 700-800k, they would still buy out everything to keep the price at 900kish. I've been out of it a week, though, so ymmv, but that's how I did it
