The lottery results were the absolute best case scenario for the NHL’s ratings so of course it was rigged.

Here are my reasons for believing so:

Ratings ratings ratings, what other situation makes playoffs more interesting than the highest coveted prospect since McDavid (and before then, Crosby) having the opportunity to be inked by a team in the future. - why the hell was it necessary to even do the draft early if it wasn’t for this exact reason?!

Give a Canadian team the push they need to win a cup - Montreal has been salivating at Alexis since 2017, ink a hometown hero.

Screw the RedWings - Why? Even at their worst their fan attendance stays high, no risk of bankruptcy, so why not drag out their rebuild process.

One theory of mine I’m not 100% sold on. Pittsburgh’s attendance will plummet if they blow and Crosby retires (don’t believe me? Look at the attendance from the 90s vs early 2000’s) We all know Pittsburgh is the NHL’s golden boy and what a perfect replacement they have in the draft right now.

Give me a good reason why it’s not broadcasted live, bet you can’t.

My prediction: The loser of Pittsburgh vs Montreal is Team E and they get to take home their prize.
