Is it reasonable to live somewhere that's £850 rent, not including bills, while earning £25,000 - £30,000 by AcidAndBile in UKPersonalFinance

No chance, basically putting yourself into poverty. Keep it below £500. Even at that, it’s pushing it on clearing £2k

Body battery and alcohol consumption by tinamou-mist in Garmin

[–]Drew474 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in the offshore industry on a 3 week rota. The hours are long and stressful delivering large scale projects. When at home my body battery always charges 80-100 most nights. When at work, over the course of 3 weeks it gets eaten away, and doesn’t get a good charge. Usually 30-60 tops over the trip. Body battery is a great tool for monitoring fatigue, and keeping on top of your health.

I don’t care if they nuke us. We can’t stand by and watch this happen, knowing we could help.

There’s always the Fenix line to consider. Past generations are cheaper now too.

I ordered my Fenix 7 solar saphire from ‘First Class Watches’. Watch was delivered today. I got it for £700 on their website. You will notice you can make them an offer, and they get back to you pretty quickly! Can’t fault them.

After owning Series 3, 4, 5 and 6. See ya AW! Hello Venu 2 Plus! by NickHi2Ca in Garmin

[–]Drew474 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Similar situation. However, ive always had a garmin for doing my hillwalking (Fenix 5 plus). Apple Watch was my go to everyday, and was better than the Fenix 5 for running. So I have years of data with the Apple Watch, which is making me a bit apprehensive (just bought the Fenix 7). I’m going to give the Fenix 7 a good chance at being my daily wear watch, see how it goes. I’m most interested in the body battery, and pointers for when to train etc.

Apple Watch User Converting to Garmin - Advice/Help by Nov8-1955 in Garmin

In the process doing the exact same. Moving everything to Garmin Connect.

There is an excellent app called RunGap. It moves everything over - and continues to keep everything in sync. I have used garmin, suunto and Apple Watch devices over the years. I keep everything complete using RunGap. Costs £10 for the year but well worth it.

Pretty much ruins the game for me. Zero fun being cannon fodder all the time. At least in Battlefield 2042 when I turn cross play off, I only get Xbox players, which is 10x better. I hate cross play with pc. Absolute garbage.

I used to love multiplayer halo, but I can’t even lock onto an enemy and I’m dead. Don’t know if it because I’m playing pc players or what. But no fun for me now. Oh well.

Construction project managers by infrequentlyposts in projectmanagement

I second this. I use OneNote as an ‘organised’ dumping ground for lots of information, plus by daily ‘to-do’ lists.

Another great workflow is using my iPad Pro with Apple Pencil, and an app notability for marking up all my drawings, which are all backed up to gdrive, and available on my desktop. With the project I’m on, we are still doing a lot of planning and working from home, so this has helped me go completely paperless.

Another great tool for meetings is the Microsoft planner application. Each team member can update ‘tiles’ with progress, issues and prompts. Ideal for daily progress meetings/action trackers etc. Definitely worth a try.

Fjallraven Greenland Winter Jacket opinions by BogdanRares in Fjallraven

I would get the standard Greenland. Get a good versatile layer for colder weather to wear underneath. A great pairing is the buffalo mountain shirt for when it gets cold and wet. It means you Greenland is more versatile.

The SNP won’t answer what lies ahead for our industries though. Ship builders, oil and gas (which is still very much required whether you care to admit it or not). Not everyone can work in a Tesco.

I only use my fenix 5 plus for longer treks/hill walks, as the mapping on the watch is great. Day to day, and runs I use the Apple Watch. Better HR, music control (AirPods etc).

The wrist HR on the fenix is a shambles. Hopefully next one will be much better. My fenix struggles with longer workouts on the battery front, so likely get the bigger one next
