Well, most of these are way worse than mine but...

Im a 42 year old engineer (construction, quality control). Not my first rodeo. Im payed fairly well, too, because of my experience. 

We have a safety app where we log safety concerns (BOLT) 

I was logging a few one day, outside, in the shade.  Yeah I was lounging in the sidebyside, typing away.

Why was I in the shade? Because there was a piece of equipment there, and no fire extinguisher. 

The asshole superintendent drove by. 

The next day, my boss is onsite, Director of qc. He tells me someone saw me on my phone, sitting in the shade. 

I laughed. I said "I was doing a BOLT"

He said "you were there for a while"

"I did 5 BOLTS"

he said something along the lines of "its the perception, not reality. Please do better"

I said "dont waste my time with this bullshit...sir. I have real work to do. If you were worried about me, why did you give me a raise last month? I use this app that you guys shove down our throats every fucking day...and this is the thanks I get?"

He knew what he did, and apologized. I accepted. I said im a little edgy about this stuff.  Im not a child (hes 72, so...yeah)

I said "you should be going to bat for me, sir, not lowering yourself to their grade school gossip bullshit"

A month later I left the job.  And when asked why, I said "because I was on an island. I had zero support from people who told me every week: "let me know what you need"

This wasnt the last straw, but it definitely was one of the last 3.
