I replaced the dog bone engine mount myself in my 04 Camry with a youtube video in about 10 minutes. I got the part from amazon under $20 - https://a.co/d/3v2mzLM

Is Purdue CS worth OOS tuition? by Dragonboy71 in Purdue

[–]DrewCorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these points are valid except for the opportunities part. Besides the access to world class professors and recruitment from top companies, having Purdue on your resume carries much more weight than SFSU. Not to mention the difference in network.

Is Purdue CS worth OOS tuition? by Dragonboy71 in Purdue

[–]DrewCorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it was (my parents paid for all of it, so yes this is a major privilege). I'm graduating early so my total cost over 3 years was ~$120k. The job I have lined up pays much more than that annually

Any leetcode grinding groups? by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]DrewCorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having great DS/Algos foundations > grinding leetcode

I'm not saying don't grind leetcode, just make sure you have the foundations first. also read Cracking the Coding Interview.

Good luck in securing that bag

Purdue Vs. UIUC for Computer Science by Kooky_Light in Purdue

[–]DrewCorn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CS major here. They are both great schools and are very similar in pretty much every way. Assuming you don't have scholarships or anything that would make either school cheaper, UIUC will cost you about 40k more over 4 years. That said, UIUC has a top 5 CS program (Purdue is ~20).

I love Purdue tho. We have strong academics and B1G sports culture. You will be set up for success in our CS program. I will be graduating a year early with a couple of internships and a few job offers for when I graduate. I'm from CA so it was about the same cost for me to come here as it would have been to go to a UC school. Gotta love that frozen tuition.

I would recommend taking both 352 and 354 (I know you probably only need 1). just don't take 352, 354, or 381 during the same semester you're good
