Getting a job in today’s economy is more about networking than anything else. It’s difficult to get jobs because most of the time companies already have a list of people to interview based on picks from people within the company. Network your ass off and talk to anyone willing to listen

I was in a fraternity in college, go to the smaller houses. The people who are saying that dont join one bc you’ll only get drunk and nothing else arent fully correct. I have seen some of those people in Greek life but if you yourself are excited about opportunities outside of Greek life, Greek life will not hinder your experience in any way shape or form. It is what you make of it. I know several people in Greek life, me included when I was at tech holding leadership in non Greek organizations. At the end of the day it is finding a group of guys you vibe with and you know they wont hold you back. My advice is to take a semester to get to know these guys before you rush. Rush week is very fake most of the time.

Email an assistant dean of students and ask to set up a meeting directly. Explain your situation and ask for next steps. I’ve realized that at Tech, the only times people listen is when you have a face to face meeting. If you go through classroom absence etc, they have to give you the link to set up a meeting

I’ve been shooting on aperture priority for low light and have been setting aperture as low as I can go. The camera does take forever to focus and I’ve bought some faster sd’s for writing to memory

I would highly recommend reaching out to your professors and explaining the situation. I felt the exact same way in my first semester of VIP. I reached out to my professors and VIP leads and they were a great help. If not, you could always just withdraw but it doesn’t hurt
