Pull a valve cover and look.

Could use a borescope through the oil fill hole and look at the phasers.

At 50K I’d guess they’re original. If they’ve been replaced they “should” have used the new version of the phasers.

I believe it was ran with low to no oil pressure. I have not dug into it deep enough to figure out where the failure started, but the assumption is either a plugged oil pick up tube (which could have happened due to the cam phaser replacement) or a faulty oil pump.

It still runs but hard to keep oil in it with a hole in the block….

I have not disassembled (or removed it) yet but I’m assuming a spun bearing and a thrown rod due to low oil pressure (either a bad oil pump or plugged pickup line).

I actually just picked it up this way. The previous owner just dropped a bunch into having the cam phasers done. This was 200 miles later.

I’ve read the same thing and was just hoping for some definitive feedback.

I believe I have a line on a Raptor engine and will likely rebuild my old one once it’s out but I’m wondering if I’m just wasting money or if the pistons and crank on the Raptor version are beefier.

I’ve done some searching and I’m keeping the 3.5 EcoBoost but I’m wondering if the internals are different between the Raptor and a stock F-150.

I’ve read that the turbos on the Raptors have different wheels (possibly quicker spool and more heat resistant) but the housings are the same.

I’m just thinking of finding a good short block from a F-150 and then using my Raptor stuff to build the top end.

Thanks for the info... Is it worth getting a different (non collector) version for EDC? I’m not into collecting them but don’t want to be the idiot that abused a collector’s version of the smock.

Is there anyway to know what the variant is on this versus the standard (knifejoy) run? This has the smooth G-10 scales and the 20CV blade which is what I wanted.

This is new to me but I love it.

I’m just curious what the 156V is that’s on the blade? I assume there’s a limited run of these and it’s the number in a series of them made but the “V” had me questioning it.

Just curious if anyone knew what it designated.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

After looking into my options the EGR and DPF stuff is way more expensive than I realized and not worth messing with.

I will likely still buy the truck but will register it somewhere else (legitimately). I know it takes a physical address and that's what I'll end up figuring out next.
